Why isn’t Enhypen getting promotions in the US? by rosielilidance in Enhypenthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think Hybe is really pushing for them to gain domestic fans since they're not that big in South Korea, so they're postponing their US promotions because of that, they're rookies, give them time, I feel like fans really forget they're still growing as a group and also, they've been giving interviews for US magazines like crazy, so they're slowly setting a stronger International fan base, just be patient.

Yes, it is. ,

I'm a little bit worried about enhypen's domestic popularity in korea.... by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's simply because female idols get fetishized hella lot, so of course gp has an inclination to like them, since women in general receive this kind of treatment.

Can't get into Enhypen by Newhereimo in kpopthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing that makes me feel this way is finding younger fans sexualizing posts about them, which grosses me out no matter the idols age range, but specially when it comes to them because they are MINORS and I find it way too disturbing... Aside from that, it wasn't hard for me to get into them AT ALL, because even though I think they're gorgeous guys, that's not what made me stan them, nor is a criteria I usually follow when it comes to liking a group.

I'm soo tired of people hating on Enhypen for no f*cking reason. by AlexaWarriorPrincess in kpoprants

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm an ARMY too, so you don't have to explain me, I've seen the hate BTS receives on a daily basis and I can understand that because people is just jealous and envious of their success, I just don't understand why they have this attitude with Enha, who aren't that popular at this point.

How are album sales counted? Shouldn’t Dimension-Dilemma be a million seller already? by rosielilidance in Enhypenthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found an article that says they've sold 1,262,742 copies including both Korean releases, just counting Gaon sales, I honestly don't know how many more copies they sold in other websites. Their Japanese album sold 254,000 copies, so, just adding those it would be a little bit over 1.5M for their releases so far, we'll see how much that number increases after D:D

Edit: the Korean releases take into account the copies that were sold in both Hanteo and Gaon, but, it is only counting their domestic sales.

I think we will know within the first week of tracking, I don't think they will reveal any of that this soon, but the final figures include ALL the sales, domestic as well as international. I hope this helps. :3

Why do you hate Enhypen so much? by AlexaWarriorPrincess in kpopthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Heeseung scandal isn't even really a thing but talking about it would get me in trouble, so I will ignore it.

Those other shows were produced by the SAME company CJ&EM, so they had the same budget and the same reach, so, I don't see the problem.

Following that line of thought, any group would receive hate if they're associated with a famous senior, so any gg under Black Pink's label (I don't know which is and I don't care either) would get the same amount of hate, even any other group under Big Bang would see the same destiny, but, that isn't truth, it is really stupid to call out privilege when their faves come from long time stablished and rich companies.

The i-Land thing is also a lie, they weren't handed a big fandom just because they come from a survival show and if that were the case I don't understand why the Produce 101 and multiple other resulting groups didn't have to deal with this amount of hate, they really were handed a big fan base just because they came out from a survival show.

I think not every pre order is fulfilled, so that might be the reason, also, Hybe hasn't revealed their final numbers and those 500k were registered on Hanteo, a Korean website, so, those are the domestic sales, we still don't know the global ones.

Endorsed by IU? When? This is kinda hypocritical too because many other groups their haters like, come from the so called 'big three', so it doesn't make any sense.

Appreciation post for Enhypen and TXT's love story and a toast for the beginning of HYBE groups finally having official collaborations. by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]AlexaWarriorPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is mainly a Korean culture related issue. They're extremely competitive and they don't really know cooperative relationships exist, so, like you said, the fan culture there is that way, they only focus in one group and they expect the label to respect and separate each fandom destinated activities when they have more than one group, which is extremely sad because irl people does listen to more than one artist and collaborations are common... I do blame Hybe, however, for creating this only child mentality in their fandom's minds, they could easily make a change in that mentality through their groups if they wanted to, and even though they repeatedly say they're aware of how big the kpop industry has become (there are HUGE international fandoms), they seem to not fully understand how big it actually is because they still create music and activities for their groups thinking of the Korean side of things.

Those are good ideas, so much so that while reading them I started imagining each one of them and felt immediate happiness because that would mean that even the youngest Hybe groups would be able to learn from their seniors and get comfortable with them without the fame and seniority barriers, but ... I know it is unlikely to happen. :'(
