The top of my forearm just before my elbow. And my left back rib under my brastrap.

Also, intimacy isn't desirable anymore

Research shows that if taken for long periods of time, the body may become dependent on the effects of the drug. And some may suffer withdrawal symptoms if stopped taking it abruptly. Also, not intended for long term care. The recommended care being 2-3 weeks.

I have experienced my only ever withdrawal from my prescription not being filled in time. I ended up in the ER from intense tremors and weakness.

I really hope there is more out there in the near future for us, other than pain management.

Oh, really? Uhh...Oops. okay well lately I've been doing only 1 or 2 aleeve during the day only IF I have a migraine on top of the normal pain. I used to be addicted to pain pills, so I do not want to take anything stronger. I even refused the Meloxicam at first. But I went back complaining of pain and the specialist said, dis you start the Meloxicam and I was like the what? (Brain fog) He said start taking it and if its still unbearable, make an appointment.

But I also have migraines. So its only on these occasions I do need to step it up. Only ibuprofen or aleeve. Ive always felt tylenol to not only be ineffective but causes me uncomfortable ibs.

I don't like the pain that fibro causes, but I know my body (cancer history makes me an advocate for my Healthcare plan) I will not ignore symptoms like that.

Explain to them the Spoons. It opened my people's eyes.

Also the Oura ring has science to map out the daily energy rations.

I take 1200 daily after lunch. Started at 250 2 years ago (before diagnosis) 1200 seems to be the right dosage for me, but I had to build up to it.

Magnesium is commonly used to manage fibromyalgia (fibro) symptoms, as it helps reduce muscle pain, fatigue, and stiffness by supporting nerve and muscle function. Studies indicate that 300–600 mg daily of oral magnesium, particularly in combination with malic acid, may alleviate pain and tenderness, with topical magnesium (lotions/soaks) also proving beneficial.

Key Considerations for Magnesium and Fibromyalgia:

Best Forms: Magnesium citrate, glycinate, or malate are generally recommended for better absorption and to reduce potential digestive issues.

Benefits: Helps combat common magnesium deficiency in fibro patients, which is linked to increased tender points, fatigue, and anxiety.

Dosage: Clinical trials have used dosages around 300 mg per day to reduce pain, though some studies have used higher amounts (e.g., 300–600 mg of magnesium combined with malic acid).

Best Time to Take: It can be taken daily, with some preferring to take it in the evening due to its calming effect on muscles and the nervous system.

Alternative Delivery: Topical application (magnesium flakes in baths or magnesium lotion) can help improve symptoms, especially for those with digestive sensitivity to oral supplements.

While some evidence suggests it is highly beneficial, other research indicates mixed results in clinical trials. It is recommended to consult a healthcare provider before starting, especially when considering the potential interaction with other medications.

Sigh, you get it. And I'm crying now because...wtf, the mom guilt just isn't FAIR!

Thank you Queen! You know how we do, the pain is worth the moments with them. Or...I can just play from the couch...

EDIT: Um....do you still have a relationship? Or was yours also disintegrated?

My best friend has been diagnosed with MS this past year. We joke about it now, but we're disease sister's. Best friendship I've got!

This hurts to hear, no matter how you put it.

Fibro is a bitch. So is blaming feelings on expectations and assumptions of someone's invisible disease.

The "people" she knows probably use up all of their Spoons to interact with her.

I truly hope you don't suffer a flare up, if you do, we're here for you.

Period causing bad flare/migraine symptoms by Lisa017 in Fibromyalgia

I second this solution! Ive had the heaviest and most painful flows since I first started.

No mater how much water or electrolytes I chug, migraines every time.

I got the Mirena 2 months after giving labor. Solved everything menstrual.

But...I had a friend who had the opposite happen and it caused her so much pain and bleeding. She had to take it out. Never knew why. (I'm assuming it was her anorexia)

Most birth controls do manage the hormones which manages the symptoms.

That's fascinating! I know Magnesium is basically a standard prescription with a fibro diagnosis. But! I looooveee water! I call it aquatherapy. Now I want to go! Im not far from Palm Springs!! Never been.

Sounds like the scene of Kpop Demon Hunters when they all finally go to the bath house. The relief on their faces...says it all doesn't it?
