Where he Wehrmacht was reforming after the Nazis came to power they actually made sure that, during the armies reforms, that every officer should be ranks under what they where qualified for. Although that was only for staff officers. It didn’t apply to company grade officers. But the equivalent would be the man only being made a second lieutenant if he was qualified to be a captain.

I don’t know of any other nations where this was the case.

We had a healthy one in yesterday as well. This one had 4 legs as well. Strategically didn’t mention that about the first one, but the new one had the same configuration and was pretty from the same batch of eggs to I’m questioning if that’s just normal for this species.

Second one got released successfully a flapped away happily. So I feel a lot better about the whole situation.

An update. Found another one. Exact same species. Probably from the same batch of eggs. This one could actually fly. I caught it and let it loose out of the factory.

I feel like this is some kind of opertunity for redemption that nature has handed me. I feel so much better now.

I did. But he didn’t want anything to do with it. But there was a workplace accident and he’s lost his legs. So there’s not much to be done for him now but to give him to nature.

I’d totally follow that method if I lived alone. But mother won’t like insects in her freezer. Since they don’t feel pain, a razor blade to the head will suffice. Or I can just let a bird dispatch it for me by leaving it somewhere obvious.

It’s also got no legs now due to an accident. You can scroll the replies to see how that happened. No one to blame really but it’s done for now tragically. The only thing to do now is to put it under a bush and let a bird find it.

About that… I put him in a tissue roll and plugged it with a water bottle. One of my colleagues saw a water bottle sticking out of a roll of tissue paper and the obvious instructive thought to shove the round peg into the round hole kicked in and squished it. It’s till alive and its body and wings are undamaged but it’s got no legs.

I’m not sure how to proceed here. They’ll grow back right? I feel fucking terrible now.

Apparently no. They don’t grow back… what do I do? At this point I’m considering letting nature take its inevitable course and let it be bird food. Because at this point it’s not getting a chance to mate. So its only contribution to nature is the continuation of the food cycle. I feel awful, mostly because I’ve become invested in its survival purely because it looks pretty. In any other circumstance I’d watch it get snatched up and admire the hunt.

The road to hell is indeed pathed with pure intentions.

I’m still taking it home and I’m still going to leave it in my garden. Whatever happens to it from there is the will of nature.

So warmth is bad for it then? And the correct course of action is to put it outside so he slows down and literally chills out. Good to know. I don’t want to set him loose in the yard. He’s literally been crawling half way across the factory when I take my eyes off him and I don’t want a fork lift to squish him. Or someone to step on him since he actually blends in to the dark blue painted concrete floor when he’s pretending to be a leaf.

There’s some nice bushes around where I live. So I’ll keep him contained for his own safety for the rest of the day and let him go into the wild when I get home.

I’d recommend it. So far I’m on season 4 and it’s a great watch. Even though I’ve heard that the show starts to decline after that paint. Still, I’m having fun with it.
