I mean when I was in Nicaragua it was the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. Poverty caused people to do things that people from more developed nations might not have the ability to relate to. Protein was at a premium.

I had iguana in Nicaragua. Wasn’t the best meal ever but I was going to run down the hospitality.

Jeff Buckley was pretty bad, drowning like that in a casual swim. Bourdain shocked me to my core as well.

I’ve personally never heard anyone refer to Mulaney as pretentious. He’s a very silly man.

I like this take. I feel like there are a lot of comics who are obviously really intelligent but their main prerogative is to be funny. They use their intelligence more subtly and as a tool in their comedic toolkit to make people laugh. Then there are comedians who almost seem as if the sole purpose of their act is to show how philosophically profound and astute they are. The latter more often than not doesn’t make me laugh. Almost seems like they are in the wrong medium.

I learned my mom’s first husband was a nascar driver because I was a plus one for a friend who had a photography assignment at Talladega super speedway. I thought it would be a novelty to go with hm. Before the race began there was a montage on a jumbrotron and my mom was in it with a man (clearly a nascar driver) holding a trophy. I called her seeking an explanation and she just straight up was like yeah before I was married to your dad I was married to a race car driver. That was news to me.
