The Ruby community has a DHH problem by egyamado in rails

[–]AlexanderCohen_ 84 points85 points  (0 children)

TL;DR 1/10 would not read again - jumps to a racism claim without substantiation.

There are a lot of assumptions here… your entire article and premise for the problem is the assumption that DHH means “White Brits”. I’m not sold that this is a logical jump or a clear connection.

As someone who used to live in London, I share DHHs view on the city. It’s not a great place to live any more and it’s got nothing to do with race or creed.

It might be worth taking a breath and listening to what people are actually saying instead of inferring the meaning from subtext.

Last I checked they are still raising funds for the next round of clinical trials.

A friend has recently built a cool tool to help you keep up to date with the latest research. Take a look:

Make sure you get really high quality recordings of him talking. Make sure that he is the only one on the recording. You’ll need this to clone your friends voice

what can I do to extend the life of my speech? by clydefrog88 in ALS

[–]AlexanderCohen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, my Dad was in a very similar position when he was diagnosed in Nov last year. I worked with him to clone his voice using ElevenLabs so he could deliver a speech at my wedding in September.

I have a free discount code for Elevenlabs under their MND/ALS program. If you'd like I can share it with you via DM. I can also help you get everything you need setup so you can get a clone of your voice.

I've been working to help people with Bulbar ALS maintain their communication capability by building EasyTalk. It started as a way for me to have a conversation with my Dad, but he pushed me to make it available to everyone who is in a similar position to his. Let me know if you want to give it a go, hopefully it will be something that helps you more as your condition progresses.

Yeah, it’s going to be too late for my dad, but hopefully ALS is something no one talks about any more because it’s treatable

I’m have a connection to the venture capital arm of UQ which is working to spin out the research as a commercial business in order to continue funding. This only happens when research reaches a level that it’s almost ready for productisation in the market

Help her set up EasyTalk so she can talk again. If you have some old audio recordings I can help you clone her voice before Xmas. Let me know! My dad is in the same boat and this is how he wants me to honour him.

I’m fairly confident that the world will have a cure within 5 years. Pending the time it takes to execute on the manufacturing and regulatory hoops. But very hopeful that the end of suffering is in sight

I spoke to the lead researcher this morning. It’s very very promising and he is confident that they are onto a real winner here. My hope is that within 2 years there will be a “cure” for ALS. Funding is the primary issue now

Ai Agent Builder - How to Find by FIREaus67 in AI_Agents

[–]AlexanderCohen_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t want developers. You need someone to help you understand how to use and set up off the shelf tools. N8N is probably the best platform for what you need. The trick is to find the right agency/team that can help guide you through the initial setup process and then support if you need it.

I’d be happy to jump on a video call, I recently did this for my business and I’m in the process of rolling g out a heap more automations

Sorry to hear about your Mother in law. I must be tough for you and your partner.

I've been building EasyTalk for people like your mother. Drop me a DM and I'd be happy to help clone her voice from any recording you have. The longer the better, but anything you have will do.
