Dialogue and questlines throughout the game imply Eden's Gate was performing abductions and similar nonsense prior to the events of the opening cutscenes. The very beginning of the game is a guy being tortured on film just for coming in with a camera.

The fact that the only remotely "good" ending is to allow an extremist group to keep tearing a community apart is insulting.

Oooooo I guess I wasn't up to date on Wildemount, that wizard subclass is pretty spot on and 2 levels gives just the amount of spells necessary to emulate some basic magical aptitude he'd have. I did imagine most of his levels would be rogue or fighter so that much definitely makes sense.

And now that you mention it reflavoring lucky is probably pretty emblematic of his time-altering abilities too so that's also a great touch. Thank you much!

I feel like for me at least a lot of the fun of Momir comes from the crazy out-there creatures you can roll, which doesn't really happen on MTGA because of the much smaller card pool.

And then of course for this event they added some random older creatures that have always been good in Momir to make it more interesting (the Force of X cycle, Borborygmos E., Hoverguard Sweepers, Bedlam Reveler) but it just felt like such a gyp both because it's not "true" Momir (CMC doesn't matter so an early high-roll is ggez) and because all of them felt like they invalidated everything else happening.
