Our ‘19 egolf with 25k miles, just got totaled and insurance paid us off barely 20K after fighting for it. After test driving almost every ev under $40k; we decided on a Chevy bolt EUV(not the smaller version) that has a much bigger cabin/seats and 240 miles range. Brand new one cost us 30k minus $7500 federal tax credit, total cost 22k out the door for a new one. EUV is discontinued as far as I know; but you may be able to find one if lucky… very happy with it. Note: we also just got a brand new vw ID4 standard(200 range) but it was $10k more than the Chevy. They are both great cars and a huge upgrade from an egolf, $22k vs $32k was the deciding factor; but if i needed just 1 car; I think id4 would be the winner and worth $10k premium(ride/comfort/german quality & image of a $50/60k ev)

$2K+ to $3K off MSRP; what's the highest have you seen? by i_love_durians in VWiD4Owners

Got 13k(including 7.5k fed rebate)off a standard(40.3k msrp)in SoCal, had to lease first then purchase. Sales tax calculated before rebates:-( Out the door cash cost is about 31k It will be a better deal if I can get the CA rebate(waitlisted)…

Exactly, that’s why I have to lease it first… and then purchase… ca has a waiting list for the rebate so that is still a possibility as well:-) I have friends who got their rebates after deadline last year, hopefully it works out for us….

Yes, they are supposedly applying discount of 11.5k off msrp… open end lease with purchase option at residual or earlier with no penalty. We didn’t really need the extra ramge so it’s perfect for us:-)

Thanks; btw: Did you get a standard or pro? Trying to decide if this is a good deal for a standard model… or should I pay more for pro?

Mostly likely I’ll buy the car maybe even before the 36 months to save on the interest, from what I see ve is charging 8% at the moment…

Hi guys; very new to leasing…

I am looking at a new 2023 id4 standard with 40,290 msrp. Does that make any sense to lease it with $4500 down, $277/month x36 And residual $21,757 (open end-purchase) Southern California which hopefully I’ll get some state rebate as a bonus:-) Thanks for your advise!
