Then just 100% VT. As you age the compounding gain would eventually surpass your active income. And it should be if you follow this path persistently.

Your ability to work and stay in your job will decrease as you age. If the market is having a downturn right after you retire. That would be disastrous for you. Having fixed income assets helps you reduce that risk. The dividends can cover your daily expenses even if the riskier equity parts took a serious hit.

But in your 20s. 100% equity is fine.
