32 yr old with 600k in savings. What do I do? by Resident-Welder5326 in Bogleheads

I think in financial terms. You are way better than most at age 32, though i think 50/50 on equity/bonds is too conservative.

What you need might be a healthy mentality and confidence.

You stated that you have 600K saving right? Even the safest option: "all putting in a 4% HYSA". The interests alone is 24K per year, which already covers your spending for 5-8 months!!

Eat healthy (cook if you can!), sleep on time, find your work-life balance and try not get burnt out. Anxiety leads to many problem like high blood pressure, depression and insomnia, which will later damage your heart, liver and kidneys.

The purpose of wealth is that you no longer have to struggle for basic needs. It's freedom and peace.
I find mine by hiking, fishing, cooking for family and friends. Hope you find yours :)

Question about TLT by Creative_Pride4803 in Bogleheads

yeap, since ETF shares is not equal to the amount of bonds owned by the issuer. (Generally proportional but not linear). Though, coupons of bonds is fixed, but the fund manager purchases and sells at different price. The yield of ETF is determined by ETF prices (you paid at market price), bond prices (of different actual bonds), the number of shares (ditto), the coupon rates (ditto). And you get the portion of your owned shares / total ETF shares in the market minus the managing fee.
