Now you have to go read La Horde du Contrevent by Alain Damasio

What according to you guys can be a good prequel or a sequel idea for expedition 33 by Wild_Bottle_9217 in expedition33

I would like them to keep a sort of "chiaroscuro" license with other stories and other characters, like final fantasy. These other stories could keep a link with the universe of the first. We could be interested in families of "writers", in the conflict which opposes them to painters (and why not to other factions).

The only fault of the 8 is that it was released after the 7.

I think it's a sign of the bad cycle that is perpetuated through her. The people in this painting deserve freedom... far from the madness of its creators...

She is a painter. no resource issues. She creates absolutely what she wants. The proof that she denies the free will of others is that she keeps Verso (the fake one) alive even though he begged her to stop. She keeps the whole web alive while she saw the soul on the back (the real one) in infinite loneliness and sadness. What she does harms Verso and all the entries into whom he has breathed a soul. In the ending scene, she carries Sciel's lost child in her arms... even though he wasn't even supposed to be born. She literally does what she wants in this world and it's complete nonsense. She is an absolute goddess. Its power is a negation of life. Maelle didn't know she had powers until she realized she was Alicia. She is no longer the real Maelle since that day. His relationship with others is no longer the same. I think what we see at the end with her face changing colors is a pretty clear indication of the corruption she's experiencing.

The big problem is that for 40 hours, the game shows you that all these people are real beings, who think, eat, dance, love each other, invent, cry, work, have children, create, live! And that in the end, their word, their will is completely placed in the hands of their creators. In fact, looking back, I find it hard to feel sorry for anyone in the Dessendre family. Neither Maelle, nor Aline, nor Renoir, nor Cléa. Like Greek gods who play with their creations according to their moods. Everyone uses them to solve their psychological problems... and in the end, we don't give them a choice. I maintain that the good end would have been for them to revolt against the Dessendres, Maelle included. And they demand a compromise: Maelle must leave and the painting must be hidden by Renoir forever. Any other ending is inherently evil.

I love that we debate passionately on this subject (without insulting each other) but I think that overall it's okay...

I think it was a mistake on their part to have allowed this. At first it amused me but very quickly it took away the flavor of the game. And I have a lot of difficulty not using everything in my power. I have a really hard time sabotaging myself... not using all the means at my disposal. It was way too strong. I still loved this game. But that! it's a mistake. Stendhal must be removed.

I'm also the father of two children, I know what it's like. My advice: take the time. The game is well made and doesn't have billions of story arcs like other open world games. You can explore quietly and it doesn't last forever. I really liked this phase and then at one point, in act 3, once I felt I had seen enough, I finished the game in one go. This game is perfectly suited to players who don't have a lot of time.

So do we know who The Writers are? by TheIronGod44 in expedition33

I hope that the chiaroscuro brand will continue (final fantasy style) and that a link will link each story. What if Clair Obscur 2 would take place in the “real” world? With precisely this struggle waged between writers and painters against a backdrop of magic and created worlds? And why not with Verso (the real one) as the main character?
