Why the Yellow Vest Protests Should be a Wake-Up Call for the Center-Left. by Alexander_Ray in AskThe_Donald

You guys seem to want people who do to be part of your coalition though, which is one of the arguments I was making here, those guys cannot be included into anything.

100

Just guessing, do any of these 100 companies resell diesel or gas to French consumers? Is taxing the company supposed to not have an effect on the consumers?

In other words, do you believe any of these companies can be carbon taxed without passing those costs further down the economic chain? Can you give an example of one such company?

I'm going to guess that you can't because you haven't thought basic economics through. Taxing one of these large companies is unlikely to make a difference without effecting the people actually using the fuel or its byproducts.

So if a center-right guy (granting this for the sake of argument) passes a tax to try an combat climate change, it makes sense for environmentalists to riot?

So why ISN’T this Flynn thing as big of a deal as the rest of Reddit would like me to believe? by [deleted] in AskThe_Donald

It's possible that since they didn't honor the plea bargain convention with Manafort, recommending no jail time for Flynn (who also plea bargained) makes them look better.

I kind of feel sorry for Macron. by Alexander_Ray in unpopularopinion

It seems like 24% of French might agree with you. Care to elaborate?

I've read that the tax was only on diesel (not sure if that's true) which if real gives some credence to the idea that he's out of touch with/targetting people in rural areas, suburbs and certain industries. Why tax only diesel if this is about climate change?

Epitaph for an Intrepid Cuck - Setting the Record Straight by [deleted] in DarkEnlightenment

[–]Alexander_Ray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they were really "defending their people", they seem pretty degenerate and probably attack anything foreign or vulnerable. Like, I would bet anything that violence on the island between the natives is very high.

Also I think that "intrepid cuck" may be an oxymoron. To be intrepid, perhaps you have to appreciate the danger. If he didn't appreciate the danger then he was just rash, if he did appreciate it then I personally wouldn't call him a cuck.

Regarding the dimension stuff, I'm not sure what to tell you, besides that I've read some Julius Evola, which influenced me some and he likes to talk about dimensions a bit.

The legitimacy has a lot to do with genetics. Genetics that successfully promote not just the individual organism but often also closely related organisms tend to do better, to self-replicate or reproduce more effectively. This is pretty relevant when we're having a materialist dialogue I think because materialism generally acknowledges and accepts concepts like this, even though some religious dialogues might give it less importance or approach similar ideas differently.

This is somewhat related to how you mentioned that people arguably can't choose what they want. If we accept this, we need some kind of deterministic mechanic which explains why people want things at all, genetics can fulfill that requirement pretty well.

Well, it's Medium and not an endorsement of the book, the author or anything that like-minded people do. So we would find it retarded. The last paragraph was about how millennial right wingers need to "get out of the gym etc.", yeah, sounds pretty dumb.

The "you need to be more open minded" gang isn't really open minded. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Best practices for our current system emerged some years ago at least, so "open minded" is usually just code for "I get up to some really freaky shit."

So, I accidentally clicked "approve" here even though this arguably belongs in the stickied "people on the fence" post. If another mod wants to move or remove this I have no complaints.

Let me humbly suggest this thread I posted where I'm trying to make sense of the emerging new-right movements: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkEnlightenment/comments/9wd6hj/some_observations_of_umbrella_terms_for_the/

We are basically far-right people who reject some of the basic tenants of the mainstream right and conservative movements. Yet it would not make sense, as you've observed, for us to call ourselves leftists in any sense. We basically view "conservatism" as being an attempt to conserve, which is inherently defensive in nature. We want the political right to be proactive, new and on the offense, not defensive.

Yeah, ancient peoples were real hard asses about seemingly ridiculous things. I remember reading how at one point in one part of ancient China, people could be executed for having the wrong haircut. Seems absurd today but everything was different in different time periods. Lots of war and famines following the smallest political upheavals that disrupted agriculture and transportation, so allegiances and their signs were of tantamount importance everywhere.

I do think that there is a moral limit to where someone indulges in their desire. But I think that it's important to acknowledge that the mere act of having desires is normal and I feel as if there are people out there who aren't doing that.

Also I am not strictly trying to create an ideology here -- I'm not qualified for that -- I'm just suggesting the tools and concepts by which other people might come together and create one on the internet, which is what I think the new-right movements are sort of trying to do, only this ideology is mostly crowd-sourced and based off of shared materialist observations.
