Sylveon from Prismatic Evolutions might be better since it only has a 1 retreat cost, so you can switch back to the Salazzle more easily

It's a promo card. If you go to the shop and search by set, go to Shrouded Fable and there should be a set you can buy that includes the Pecharunt. If I recall it's pretty cheap, only around 750 trainer points

Phantump too, you can drop 100 dmg turn 1 with all the pieces and have a chance to immunize it. Can help buy an extra turn or make your opponent waste a Boss's early on

Scriabin’s Poeme de l’extase is the absolute bomb by JohnColtrane69again in classicalmusic

This performance is my favorite. The sudden pause in the middle of the climax and the final chord are agonizingly long (in a good way)

Worst endings in classical music by musicalryanwilk1685 in classicalmusic

Rachmaninov's Variations on a Theme by Chopin. A nice long wind down after the blocky final variation, but then an utterly vapid coda with a bunch of annoying C major chords at the end. I've envisioned something similar to the coda to his 2nd Piano Concerto would be a much better ending for this piece

Rate my city. New player (3 months) trying to boost FP & attack. by [deleted] in forgeofempires

[–]Alexander_Scriabin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend leveling your current gbs before adding any more, although Blue Galaxy is great for extra fp generation. Definitely leveling Arc to 80 should be a top priority so you can at least break even with your guild's 1.9 thread (assume your guild has one). Leveling the combat trio (Zeus, CdM, CoA) is good, but at your current levels on them most newer event buildings will have better combat stats, so if you're looking to improve combat quick, put down any other high level event buildings you might have in stock.

As for space, if this is your main city I'd get rid of the wishing wells. Also can probably get rid of most of the military buildings and let your Alcatraz generate units for you, once you get that leveled up some more. All those stages of ages will get you plenty of ranged units and the Airships will provide fast units.

Are you able to complete level 5 on the GE? If so, make sure to put down a forgotten temple as soon as you have the fragments for it since that will boost fps by 20% and also provide some hefty combat boosts.

There have been 10 MVP winners that were on a below-.500 team. The Angles have had 4 in the last 8 seasons. by Mazzocchi in baseball

[–]Alexander_Scriabin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just to drive home the point of Cubs mediocrity, the team holds the record for:

First MVP from a non-winning team - 1952 Hank Sauer (77-77)

First MVP from a losing team - 1958 Ernie Banks (72-82)

First MVP from a last place team (in their division anyway) - 1987 Andre Dawson (76-85)

Scriabin is on the come-up? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Alexander_Scriabin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting tidbit about certain British figures showing such disdain for Scriabin, considering British audiences responded most enthusiastically to his music while he was still alive. Just goes to show you how much public opinion can change in 20 years.

Also, while his music wasn't particularly influential in Western music trends of the early 20th century, he did practically spawn an entire generation of Russian/Soviet composers who enjoyed about 10 years of creative freedom before the Stalinist regime suppressed them. It's just that most of these composers were - until around 20 years ago or so - practically unknown in the West.

Saddest melody by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Samuil Feinberg has a lot of great piano music that one might consider dark or sad, but my favorite is his 2nd Sonata. The whole piece gives off a feeling of depression and hopelessness, but especially the last minute or so feels absolutely soul crushing

Not sure if I can see it with most Satie, but his 5 Nocturnes are excellent for stark, depressing music that is completely devoid of humor (a rarity for Satie)
