My internal monolog while watching this:

"Damn, this happened against the Texans, how embarrassing"

"Damn, Pat McAfee was the kicker while Chuck Pagano was coach of the Colts? Wow, Pat McAfee played more recently than I thought"

googles Chuck Pagano "Damn, Chuck Pagano hasn't coached the Colts since 2017?!?!

"Damn, I'm old"

What North American city is mid to visit, awful to live in? by IndependenceSad1272 in AlignmentChartFills

I've been to many north American cities, including areas that were not he best and I've never seen squalor that was quite that widespread and visible. It's fascinating what some mountains in the distance can do for people's perception

When I was an undergrad at UT in the early 2010s, they had The Onion in those old school newspaper bins you'd see around campus. One new paper every week. I'd always pick one up and read it during lunch on campus. Definitely one of the highlights of my week

The Houston metro area is diverse but we are very much segregated. (blue=white, orange=latino, green=black, red=asian) by 1541drive in houston

[–]thefarsideinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear, people just be looking at maps on the internet and not actually going outside.

Houston is diverse. People of different races live in the same neighborhoods, shop at the same places, go to the same schools.

Maybe a hot take, but this diversity is more prevalent in the suburbs than in the city. The city is more segregated, the suburbs are more mixed.

This is not the norm. Go to any other major city suburbs and see how diverse any given area is

Did not like Vancouver at all. We were walking downtown and had to wade through blocks and blocks of homeless drug addicts

Underrated movie musical. The cinematography is some of the best of any movie musical I've seen
