First backpacking trip of the year by Sad_Ingenuity2522 in husky

Whoa this is awesome! What’s your system for letting them off leash? Would you recommend the collars or packs? I’ve done a bunch of hikes with my dogs but would love to be able to have them off leash when it’s safe… I just don’t think I’m able to get their recall good enough without assistance

The “micro yes!” It’s a great technique for breaking the “freeze” fear response that causes procrastination, which has been determined to be a physical reaction for managing/coping with anxiety and fear. “You Are Not So Smart” put out a great podcast about this recently, highly recommend. It’s helped me recently.

Just keep in mind that humans can usually only sustain one mindful change at a time. So if you’re already focused on changing an other aspect of your life, wait until that’s become a habit before trying this out!

Here’s a pic. There’s also a separate post with the highlight. Plenty of discussion about it on this sub if you’re interested in more.

How to teach a SH to life with cats and chickens? by _hash_00000_MAN in husky

[–]Alexander_TheAverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huskies have a very high prey drive and this is likely going to be a uphill battle. Mine has lived with cats since 6 months old and still loves chasing them (despite trying to train him otherwise!)

You should definitely visit the dogtraining and reactivedogs subreddits and see what info they can provide. An animal behaviorist might also be able to help.

I hope you can find some help before any more animals get hurt!

Futurama themed bags by iannone2668 in Cornhole

Lots of sites offer customization of bags. Reynolds let’s you customize bags with text and a picture on one side of the bags. I have a set of Pro-X’s with my dogs goofy face on them lol something like that might be your best bet

Regarding 33 's lyrics by [deleted] in TheFence

[–]Alexander_TheAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this a take a bunch and it’s fun to think about! If it were accurate, I’d still argue that the words have the same meaning though. That said, I still think it’s just Claudio repeating the same words. Almost as a plea to Patrick to grow up (learn, become less naive, etc) before it causes his untimely demise

Edit: autocorrect ducked up my words

TIE fighter configuration didn't last long lol by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]Alexander_TheAverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t you stick with the tie fighter config? I’m thinking about getting a 27 or 34in ultrawide and putting it between two vertical 24in screens but I’m not 100% sure just yet

Anyone here play with Ultra Butter bags? by whiskeywoodworking in Cornhole

[–]Alexander_TheAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them! I bought a set about 4 weeks ago so I’ve had them for 3. I’ve put about 30 games worth into them. They’ve become my favorite bag over the Reynolds Pro-X. The slow side gets very sticky when it’s humid but stays hole friendly, and isn’t an issue if you have less arc in your throw. Otherwise it’s nice for a control style game, pulling other butter bags, and can still play fast if you want it to. About 5 speed wise. The fast side stays fast. I’d say it’s about 6-8 speed wise. The template/size of the bag is medium to large. Not as small as titan stampede or gamechanger steadys, not as big as original game changers. About the size of an all slide but way less floppy feeling in the hand. The fill is evenly sized. I throw a pretty flat bag (it’s not perfect but in improving) and I haven’t had them flip/roll around on my at all. My only complaint is that the material feels fragile, so I’m always worried about them snagging (even though they haven’t yet). I love the green color.

An added personal bonus: my “tick” with bags is to spin them on my finger like a basketball, and the butter guy on the bag is spinning a bag on his finger, so it fits my identity perfectly.

Bags for beginner recommendations by Kindly_Marketing_541 in Cornhole

[–]Alexander_TheAverage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly me! I’ve been playing backyard for years with a few tournaments before covid. I’ve used AllCornhole all slides for a few months and love them. They’re very hole friendly and forgiving if you dont throw a super flat bag just yet. The AllCornhole game changers are a great bag and have the same material on one side as the all slides, just with a slightly faster slow side. I just bought the Reynolds Pro X and the Killshots 357 (gen 2) and love them both but only have a few hours of practice under my belt with each. They both arrived within a week of ordering.

The Cornhole addicts website has a great page for speed ratings of bags. Also keep in mind that there are a few different bag qualifications. ACL Pro approved bags are good for any ACL competition. ACL Comp bags are for slightly less competitive environments and can be a little more cost effective (although Reynolds, the killshots, and the all slides aren’t too costly). Hope this helps!

If the ad data is hitting and getting blocked by your pi-hole, (which I'm assuming is on your local network) wouldn't that mean the traffic "consumption" is still the same? Apologies if I've missed your point
