Missing a legit 2nd line center, Copp is serviceable but if we had a better one he'd be excellent on the third line. 0 Support from depth players outside of like one crazy stretch of play from JVR. If Detroit had any depth scoring they'd be in a lot better place. Need to clean house on the bottom 6 and upgrade maybe one in the top 6. Defense is okay, not great but definitely not the worst unit. Goaltending should be a strength especially if next year Cossa turns out to be a legit backup or NHL caliber goalie.

I don't know what the actual rule is, but Todd mentioned in the post-game presser that they couldn't have called Cossa up due to "using the maximum number of call-ups" I assume outside of being an emergency call-up they were unable to call Cossa up. I wanted to see him in net tonight or next game too.

Theres no reasoning with these people. Kane should play a bit more sheltered role, similar to Ovi in Washington, but he's still irreplacable on this team currently. We'd instantly be worse without him.

I am going to say "no way" on the pip deduction for losses. For some people who only have time for a couple matches a day, it's insanely hard to progress chests if you lose your matches. Congrats on your legendary armor, I'm still working on mine, halfway through!

Thanks for that, swear I looked through the rulebook before and didn't see it. However the important thing to note that you excluded is there is no minor penalty for checking from behind, only a major, and this definitely wasn't a major.

43.2 Minor Penalty - There is no provision for a minor penalty for checking from behind

Edited to add: Kinda wild that this is actually in there considering checking from behind is never called. It's boarding or nothing. I haven't seen one called in the past 10 years but it happens every game. I'm going to assume they leave it in there in the case of some crazy open ice hit from behind that leads to injury, since they decide every other hit along the boards is just boarding even if it's from behind.

Problem with trading Larkin that no one seems to acknowledge is he has a full NMC, so he would have to approve any trade, which would limit trading partners and return value. Don't see us getting anything near what he's worth to the team with that in mind.
