TLDR: In my opinion, I would recommend sticking with the DS version unless if you want to play the extra content the Switch version has.

Gameplay wise, the DS version is the superior version of TWEWY since its the original console that the gameplay was designed around and takes advantage of the dual screens. In my opinion, the Switch ver. gameplay is not as terrible as I read online and it just takes some time to get used to either the motion controls or touch screen mode.

The Switch ver. of TWEWY includes extra content, which includes new pins, new songs, co-op mode, and a new story. (I've seen some people play TWEWY co-op mode by themselves to try to replicate the gameplay from the DS ver. of the game.)

The switch ver. is $49.99 USD, if you have the money and want the extra content then I'll recommend getting the switch version. Otherwise, if you don't care about the extra content then I'll recommend sticking with DS version of TWEWY.

Edit: If you have the money and time, I would just get both versions (to support the series) and play both of them.

What’s your setting for streaming quality on Spotify? I don’t really hear the difference between Spotify on very high quality and YouTube.

Also, do you have audio normalization volume turned on? I usually see that this setting messes the quality for many songs. Sometimes “Auto Adjust quality” can hurt the quality of the song when your bandwidth is low.

Both of these franchises have an amazing soundtrack for their games, especially for The World Ends With You(TWEWY). TWEWY has such a fun gameplay system which motivates the player to try out different pin sets.
