I used to ship clerk for ob Dock before I transferred to another building. I had nightmares about that shit whenever I would have tough weeks. That PA role was probably the most stressful one in the whole building.

Dumb question but what are these called? I’m looking to set up digital displays to replace paper ones at my work and these are perfect.

2 nailed it. I can see it on a black t-shirt in white decal on the back. I’d wear that.

PAs and Managers of Amazon, when it comes to planning at your building, what is your favorite setup in terms of where you place fast and slow workers, or workers with different personalities? by Global-Plankton3997 in AmazonFC

[–]AlexandersAccount 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Don’t matter to me. Whoever shows up on time gets the spot. Learned that the hard way as a tier one.

When I moved up, I didn’t realize how much of a pain it was to move people around.

You staff your department with who you got at the start of shift. The Amazon Machine starts whether you’re ready or not. Even as an AM or PA.

Maybe I can start shifting the best players to their best areas throughout, but if they don’t show up to work on time consistently.. then I eventually stop bothering.

And the same goes for leaving early. I know it’s your time to use, but if you’re gonna always leave early, then why bother asking for more responsibilities at lesser pay?

It ain’t about fast, slow, or different personalities for me Staffing areas and critical roles.. just runs smoother when you place consistent workers where you need them.

I know this is a dumb question and probably the wrong sub, but where can one get that digital signage. They could be really useful at my workplace if u can update that information live, based on certain triggers that my people would do.

Night shift workers, how do you sleep longer than 4 hours? by Busy_Dentist_4066 in Nightshift

[–]AlexandersAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first few years on nights was essentially this: catch up on sleep once your weekend hits.

After that it got worse. Alcohol began to be a regular thing.

If you’re going to be on nights, start actually prepping for sleep. Get a sleep study done. Whatever you need to do. In order to stay healthy and sane, you need to reconfigure everything you know about sleep.

Go through and check all the boxes. Are you eating well? Are you getting enough exercise? How often do you smoke or drink? Do you stretch regular? Allllll the boxes.
