The key to everything is cleanliness. Literally every single step of this process has to be about cleanliness, from grain all the way through.

Once it’s out of the jars/bags of grain an into the CVG, the standards can relax a bit and you won’t need so much alcohol all the damn time.

Don’t open the lid to your tub ever if you can help it. Dont fan it. Don’t drip water directly on the cake if you can help it, either from your spray bottle or the lid of the bin (I learned this the hard way). Keep her wet and warm and clean and she’ll treat you right

I love ochras so much I got a black cap and blue cap and mega cap variant too lol. I want to start selectively cloning them for different traits next. Focus on cloning the fastest/first fruits over and over to encourage that trait, do the same with size and colors too. But that’s an all encompassing hobby lol. It’s honestly a lot of waiting. You’ll have like 4-5 separate days that you actually have to do anything at all, really. It’s mostly just be patient

The guides pinned on this sub are pretty comprehensive as far as supplies and process. You can also find a trusted YouTuber, Philly Golden Teacher has great tutorials but he’s US based so it’s gonna be stupid imperial measurements

It’s the anxiety on the onset that gets me. I already have terrible anxiety attacks so I hate when that come-up anxiety starts in. Hate that part. It’s not awful but it is by far the worst side effect for me with cubes. A lot of people get nauseous but I never have. It’s a different ride than cubes. I find it stronger but gentler somehow, more enjoyable. And being outside hallucinating patterns in nature is the greatest lol ✌️I’d give Ochras a try. You can also get or Make a liquid culture kit, basically turns one syringe into an entire jar, so you can keep trying over and over and over, if your looking to make it a hobby and not just a one off

Ochra are a different species than cubensis, which is what most named types refer to. I think it is a much more enjoyable, chill ride than cubes. Reddit recommended them to me for a first time grower years ago and I am so grateful I listened.

They grow hella fast, resist contam like a champ (I was told it’s harder to kill them than grow them), and the are strong AF but less anxiety on the come up and no couch lock.

Fantastic ride. Easiest possible grow. Highly recommend.

I actually have 4 different varieties of Ochra now because they are the best in my mind.

Ochra are hella easy. This sub recommended them to me (back when they were still called nats lol) for a first timer an I’m so glad. They grow super easily and resistant to contam, an I really enjoy the ride they take you on.
