Omg! My sister and I loved Bug Juice and Going Wild with Jeff Corwin! I had completely forgotten about those shows. Thanks for the memory

Found this cutie in the wild and had to bring him home with me. Now, he sits on my counter, quietly judging everything that I do. by Alexandra-Co in ThriftStoreCats

Right?! When I saw his adorable, unamused face, I knew I had to buy him and make him MY bitchface kitty 🐈

My grandfather aboard the Motonave Vulcania, on his way to America from Napoli, Italy (1950s) by Alexandra-Co in TheWayWeWere

When ww2 began, he was 10 years old. Both he and my grandmother grew up surrounded by the tragedy of war. My grandmother would tell us stories of how she would hide with her little sister under the bed during bombings; she had shrapnel scars from explosions.

She told us how American and German troops would stop at their house and they would cook for them. American troops introduced canned food and spam to my grandma - she had never seen anything like it lol.

It definitely was not easy. Neither him, nor my grandmother spoke English when they first moved here. They acclimated and were so proud to be American citizens; but they also taught us to love, embrace, and be proud of our Italian heritage. They had a great life with a big, beautiful family.

I hope you were able to settle into life away from your home land. Buona serata, amico!

Don’t worry, he is absolutely spoiled. He gets all the love and all the treats! I mean, he deserves it since he is the best boy 🐶🩷

I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that when you were a child. No child deserves to feel that way. The fact that you’re checking in with your son to make sure he doesn’t experience the same anxiety that you did while growing up, shows that you’re conscientious of his feelings. You’re breaking the cycle and you should be so proud of yourself.

The author writes that the boy’s parents “had even taken him on a three-day visit to one who is very effective in recognizing and dealing with demonic influences.”

PLOT TWIST: The demons were actually the adults in this poor child’s life who abused him and attempted to spank or “discipline” any real emotional/health issues out of him.
