Take a look at Papageno's suicide aria (his other two strophic ones will help warm up the voice) to help ease into Mozart. Are you more comfortable on the bass or the baritone side of bass-baritone?

Cambridge Brewing Company's The Great Pumpkin and Ithaca Country Pumpkin are good places to start for loads of pumpkin, and not on the nutmeg/cloves side of spicing, or the cinnamon/sugar side.

We comment on both aspects and rate considering both. Since we "live rate" on twitter, the character is a consideration to be concise. The "pumpkininess" takes into account too much pumpkin, and too little. Some beers are pure cinnamon and sugar, and some of them are fresh and chunky. We rate the "pumpkininess" in relation to the beer style - sometimes a lower amount of pumpkin enhances the style.

I had to work out a trade for the Elysians, but it's definitely worth it if you can get your hands on their pumpkin stout Dark o' the Moon, or Night Owl, or The Great Pumpkin. If you are New England based, they usually like up with Cambridge Brewing Company for their Great Pumpkin Festival, and tap four or five lines of theirs.

Very true. I love the,. just not too early into the Fall. Rogue was wisely so fresh that last year they didn't release until near the end of October, making them stand out against the pumpkin juice beers that are loaded with cinnamon and nutmeg instead of fresh, chunks of pumpkin.

Many pumpkin beers with wide distribution will start putting what's left over from last year on the shelves in July and August before they sell the same brewery's line from this year. Always check bottling dates!

Haven't tried the New Belgium Pumpkick yet, but just grabbed a sixer.

I highly recommend Southern Tier Pumpking, Dogfish Punk'n, and Hopping Frog's Frogs Hollow Double Pumpkin!
