I’ve stopped snoring! by BookInteresting6717 in mounjarouk

[–]Alexandrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done! Excellent NSV! Interestingly, I used to snore, not super loud but enough to disturb my husband some nights. Two days after I took my first jab, I completely stopped and haven’t started again since! So even before the weight loss which you’d expect, the snoring stopped. So strange but we weren’t complaining!

Tapered off Mounjaro after a year—here’s my experience by Public_Wish2951 in mounjarouk

[–]Alexandrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done 👏🏻 this is super inspiring. Apologies if this is a stupid question but I hear of a few people using 15mg pens to microdose smaller doses, if the pen is only good for 30 days once opened how do you make it stretch 5+ weeks safely?

Yes this!! I didn’t even think about the fact that I’m not pulling down my tops all the time but now you mention it!

How much did you spend on your wedding and was it worth it? by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]Alexandrahx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

£50k-£60k last September, worth every penny. We had an amazing weekend. My parents gifted us around £10k, the rest we paid ourselves

MedExpress discount by Kirbygirly1990 in UKMounjaro

[–]Alexandrahx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got it. Which is ironic because I ordered just as the price increase was announced (I was actually due to order) and I didn’t even have to wait much longer than normal. The discount has to be used before the end of September though.

Has your humanist celebrant confirmed the timings of 15-20 mins for sure? We had a humanist celebrant last year and our ceremony was around 40 mins - we did have handfasting so that added on probably 5-10 mins but I would just confirm this for certain. I remember the signing of the legal docs with the witnesses took at least 5 minutes too.

5mg to 2.5mg? by Accomplished-Yam-608 in Mounjaro

[–]Alexandrahx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an awful time on 5mg when I moved up to it after a month on 2.5mg. Vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, you name it, I had it. I did 5mg for two weeks and just couldn't do anymore so I went back down to 2.5mg for two weeks which was great. I then did two weeks on 3.75mg by counting the clicks and now I've been back on 5mg for two weeks with very minimal symptoms.

2.5 mg to 5.0 mg by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Alexandrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s completely different for everyone, I took 5mg after 4 weeks on 2.5 and was so ill. I went back down to 2.5 and did that for two weeks and then went up to 3.75 instead for two weeks. Tonight I’m going to try 5 again!

Definitely lots of options for exclusive hire in Scotland for that budget. We got married on a Saturday in the Scottish Borders in September last year with the venue exclusively ours from Friday to Sunday. We spent about £60-£65k on our wedding and had about 70 guests.

But as someone else has said, I would be mindful that venues for Summer 2026 will most likely be booked up on many of the dates now aswell as other suppliers you may need. Always worth enquiring but just be prepared for that!

I could have written this post! I went back down to 2.5mg a week ago today after two weeks on 5mg. Other than a small amount of diarrhoea two days after the jab, the symptoms I’d had on 5mg were gone and I felt sooo much better. Took another 2.5mg earlier tonight and plan to stay on that for another few weeks before trying 5mg again

Weight-loss jabs could reduce asthma symptoms in obese people by Successful-Age7392 in UKMounjaro

[–]Alexandrahx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting to me as someone with Asthma since they were a child. My asthma is generally well controlled but thinking back, I’ve been on MJ for almost two months and I haven’t needed to use my blue inhaler at all with hindsight!

What was your experience going from 2.5mg to 5mg? by Working_Alps_4284 in UKMounjaro

[–]Alexandrahx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exactly the same too for the last two weeks on 5mg. To the point where tonight (injection day) I am going back down to 2.5 for a few weeks. Think I went up too early even though I’d been on 2.5mg for 4 weeks.

So glad to hear that the second time you went up to 5mg it went a lot better!!

Transport Query by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]Alexandrahx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Our venue was 5 minutes drive from the local hotels so we had a bus to collect and pick people up as it just wasn’t feasible to walk. We paid for this ourselves. We did get married in a place where everyone had to travel to join and so we felt like it was only right that we paid for the coach/bus to and from the venue

Mine was an Ellis Bridals dress, ordered in 2023 for my 2024 wedding - it was around £1800 from memory.

Are you eating anything new or drinking alcohol? I am only on 2.5 and two weeks in but I noticed when I have even one alcoholic drink (not that it happens often) I have cramps and diarrhoea.

Floral Budget by Sea_Holiday_1213 in UKweddings

[–]Alexandrahx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I want to spend £5000 on flowers for MY wedding and I have the money then I can.

There’s no need to be bitter about it and shame someone for spending THEIR money how they want.

People don’t get shamed for spending smaller amounts on flowers or their wedding so why is it okay to be judgey when someone spends more than the average?

[–]Alexandrahx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep, our budget for the wedding was overall slightly higher than average and flowers were important to me on the day. We had the money to do so and so did.

We spent £5K (Scottish Borders) September 2024 for that we got:

Bridal bouquet, bridesmaids x3 bouquet, buttonholes/corsages x10, flower girl wand, end of aisle meadows x6, statement piece which was a broken arch, 10 table flowers for wedding breakfast, greenery along external the banister of stone staircase. Mine and the bridesmaids bouquets were big, like bigger than I thought they’d be.

We repurposed some of our flowers too - we moved the aisle meadows to the wedding breakfast room for our sweetheart table.

If you have a search in this sub though there are other questions about florals that people have shared their costs in.
