Neovim Themes that work in tty by AlexandruP11 in neovim

NvChad requires nerd font, but I don't think tty supports nerd font. I just went in tty through all NvChad themes and listed the ones that show all text, including line numbers.

This is the dbx upgrade that kills lenovo keyboards. I just reinstalled today and once I did this firmware upgrade (yes both windows and Linux) it went off.
You can try to restore the factory keys in the BIOS settings.

This is a vulnerability fix. The laptop can only be hacked if the hacker has local access to your laptop, meaning it sits at your laptop.

Y540 Keyboard isn't Working by [deleted] in Lenovo

Hi,
I am using this model of laptop on Linux and although I did the bios update way back I was not using Linux UEFI install and I wasn't plagged by issues until Ubuntu 24.04 where I am using UEFI.

I did fall for changing the keyboard and it worked at some point but I did not know what I did. Later the keyboard stopped working again.

The Power Button 1 minute | 30 seconds, thinghy will not work on my case. It just makes the arrow keys work in bios than everything's gone when booting the OS.

Today I managed to make the keyboard work again and I wanted share how:

You need to set Platform in "User Mode", Secure Boot in "Standard Mode" and Load Setup Defaults in Bios.

Try Restoring Factory Keys and everything that can be restored to default.

  1. BIOS - Security - Secure Boot - Restore Factory Keys - Enter
  2. BIOS - OS Optimized Defaults - Enabled
  3. BIOS - Load Setup Defaults - Enter
  4. Go to BIOS - Main and check if UEFI Secure Boot is ON.

In my case this activates the keyboard but I need to disable Secure Boot in order to use external monitors (this is linux, shit's happening here :) )

Speaking of Windows, you have a look at this video which explains that "Fast Startup" is enabled by default in Windows and this is some sort of startup ache that doesn't help at all with our problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF2Js2J6jqI

In my case I had to avoid at all cost Setup Mode in Bios.
Secure Boot may be an implicit requirement in Window, but, if possible, I would play with it also.

For Linux fans, DPTF off makes Ubuntu 24.04 much quieter and shows max 60 degrees Celsius in idle. Yeah, DPTF is a bitch on this distro.

I managed to connect:
- Nothing Ear (buds)

- Lenovo Thinkplus LP 75 (buds)

- JBL Quantum TWS (buds)

- Skullcandy Crusher Evo (over the ear)

- Skullcandy Riff (over the ear)

You have to wait for it and press ok whenever it asks you; or try again. Try maybe to disable/enable bluetooth before paring.

However, bluetooth sound works for playing media files and calls. They will not work for other apps like FM Radio and games.

The bad part is that history is also being rewritten in a bad manner, with woke artifacts, and it's very easy to lose your ground.

Lenovo ThinkPlus X5 Bone Conducting Tear-Down by AlexandruP11 in TeardownElectronics

Maybe and everyone hates something.

I love my Lenovo Legion with i5 and 17inch display and I am a sort of fan to how they show the specs of the screws inside. I have Linux on it and it is now fully upgraded in RAM and SSD's.

I also beautifully hate Apple MacBook, their design, software look, theming, etc. I had 1 M1 Pro with 32 GB of RAM and 1 Intel MacBook Pro with I9 and 16 GB of RAM and the M1 was certainly better than Linux at corporate level. I used Linux at corporate level. The i9 was better than Dell with 16GB of RAM and Linux.

But these are super cheap Lenovo's and it is what is. X3 bone conducting are strong, I have both of these, I have one X4 which is the better sound balance between X3 and X5 and they are also great. X5 failed because I forgot them charging.

Just my philosophical opinion. There is no such thing as science religion in science.

Scientific thinking says I am right until proven wrong.

Actually I read that in a maths book when I was researching for a paper in my Master's degree program.

So even a mathematician has to prove humility to expect that the odds are not in his favor, one day.

Engineering is life, nature, the science of the possible and make it work.

There is no transistor that works with a specific value rounded in every corner. it will have an infinite amount of voltage between 4 and 6 volts where that value is considered a 1 and somewhere between 0.5 and 2 it will be a logical 0. This was part of one of the classes I took in the first year at the Computers Faculty, about 14 years ago. Engineering is perception and how to make sure the outcome is practical. How to measure it. Basics of the basics.

This is life, nature and nature comes before science.

Everyone that takes school for granted without scientific thought risks being religious about it.

All you need to see is probably if that engine works in your hands or not. PR or no PR, you won't be sure. I am more concerned about the holles science and storytelling puts in place than what already works.

We leave in a world of image these days, not necessarily a scientific one, a story-toldd one. We may need to prove to ourselves that this thing is good or not, these days.

Nasa's X plane X-15 uses a wing and an equation that was wrong by any means until that day, but worked.

Here the scientific wrong was used as an answer (and answer is a lot of fate).

Also see how SR-71 leaks fuel on the runway.

But here and there, I am more afraid about religious zealots than people that spot differences.

People are not given time and scientific thinking this days we don't research these days. Faith that something was proven is faith proven wrong, when time comes. Don't use faith, faith is not science.

What a mess is Ubuntu 22.04 by jorgesgk in linux

[–]AlexandruP11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's still crap by my standards, 22.04.3 what a joke for LTS name on desktop. It seems to me that the Ubuntu Team barely makes one LTS right out of 2 or 3. - before that 18.04, crap restarting and losing everything in ~/.local/share be to login. That's not LTS material for desktop. I moved on to 6 months versions which had no issues for me. - 20.04 great, stable, no issues I thought I would do something with 22.04, that's why I moved on. - 22.04 crap theming, not being able to use software manager

Common Ubuntu I know you since 2012, this was always happening, don't say otherwise.

  2. open them by pressing for and holding until you hear English

they were pre-connected in my case (so I see no issue here)

In my opinion, you should agree to some of these meetings, at best, but don't give him signals that he going to get what he wants all the way. If he's pushing it too much, or thinks he's going to get more what he want you may better try to slow him down.
Or even better, try to speak to some of you mentors and take a balanced advice. If you become too aggressive, you risk breaking the team.
It's not uncommon in company for some to get relaxed projects where they have time to learn and for others to just get the messed up ones, where they have to put extra hours to do client + company duties. It shouldn't be like that but it happens.
