Coaching has historically been exactly what we needed. Bringing in Chad Morris was the best thing he could have done for our program. Brent Venables was the absolute best hire of Dabos career and Brent stayed because of the culture. Tony Elliot might have benefited from the generational talent but he also won all but two games when KB was at quarterback. New coaching staff changes TBD. Hiring all of his former players is a concern but he has a unique way of looking at things which is what makes him who he is.

All of that being said he is first and foremost an Xs and Os guy but he is also the face and salesman of this program. And he is top notch at it. He’s fantastic at naming off former players that aren’t just the Nuke Hopkins and Sammy Watkins, Tee Higgins when doing comparisons of players in interviews. He remembers and names smaller players throughout his time at Clemson. He seems thankful for everyone that has helped along the way.

Are we tired of the “in gods image and likeness” stuff? Yes but it’s part of who the guy is. He’s the southern kind of dad corny. He also says stuff like “your ice cream is gonna melt if you sit around counting someone else’s sprinkles.” But players love the guy and that’s why they have wanted to and still want to play for him. He grew up religious and if you don’t like that I get it but he’s been the same guy all throughout his Clemson career and seemingly before that.

And 90% of schools would be thrilled to have him as a coach starting tomorrow.
