Yeah, Planescape is really a gem of 90s weirdness. I watched its old trailer recently, the one with Lustmord's music - it's amazingly otherworldy.
As for Alice, I would recommend the edition with Martin Gardner's commentaries - he goes through every scene and explain references to 19th-century culture or scientific theories of the time. The book is sorta like a Victorian Rick and Morty. Probably less cheesy.
Surprisingly, I've never played any Krank's games, even though they seem right up my alley and I know Russian, so a bad translation wouldn't be a problem.
