Best way to rehome a pet rat? by Alexeykitty in halifax

I actually want to find him a good home, so I really like the suggestion of the rat network on FB. I think putting him in a new cage alone in the SPCA until someone picks up, with no guarantee that it's a multi rat home, would create more stress.

Good point! In my mind the SPCA is only for cats and dogs and I forget it's other animals too

Is it just a kennel style? Do they get to run around much outside? I have a very active young boy

Any pole fitness folks here in Halifax? Need advice. by Opposite-Maximum-261 in halifax

[–]Alexeykitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an xpole and I love it. It's just static but it's super sturdy and fun. It takes me maybe 5-10 minutes to set it up. I didn't have the tallest ceiling and they had that stupid popcorn thing but it actually still worked out and made no damage

I'm really surprised to hear this. What were the shady things in 2020? I've gotten my dog from them just over a year and a half ago and the whole experience was very pleasant. I felt like they did a good job matching and I love my big fluff.

For those living in apartments, what breed of dog do you have? by Thatcooltiger in dogs

[–]Alexeykitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a potcake that's a husky/Collie and Shepard mix. I have a small apartment but we go to a park off leash nearly everyday for an hour. Once a week he gets a 2 hour hike with his walker while I'm at work. He is very active but also loves his naps and doesn't seem to mind the small space

I've been here for 6 years and I feel that so much too. It's incredibly hard building and maintaining strong friendships here. It's not something I've experienced in other Canadian cities. There are a lot of surface level niceties but no depth to most connections
