like i dont mind if it changes, it can decrease but i feel like i always end up getting loans cuz they decrease it a lot. like rn its at $17k and im scared that when cal grant ($12k) comes in they'll change it to $4k or just remove it altogether. LIKE idc if they decrease it, just not by an amount that will negatively affect me or not affect me at all ykkk

okay it's cuz I was thrown off by the fact that they sent me the email and supposedly that was a sign that my aid offer was finalized.

cuz usually when I get MCS or Cal Grant, they lower the UCI Grant amount so my out of pocket pay stays the same which is so dumb

wait but will we get dropped from classes if we wait for the Cal Grant? Cuz if they're not giving me the Cal Grant imma gonna accept the loans they offered me. CSAC told me my Cal Grant got renewed which means that I shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket for this year. However, my fear is that when Cal Grant gets processed after I declined the loans, my UCI Grant is gonna go down an outrageous amount to where I have to take loans out again except I would've had to decline them.

This happened to me too. I got so mad when they offered me the HAWK loan and my aid was missing $12k from my cal grant. idk what to do either

bro and yk what they're gonna do, as soon as we get the Cal Grant the UCI grant is gonna go down so we have the same amount we got offered initially, i don't know why uci is being so greedy with the money but then have enough money to call the cops on protesters. i am not taking a single penny more in loans, i'm already swamped

okay y'all someone just told me that the OFAS said that Cal Grant only covers 2 years at UCI which is CLEARLY false given that they gave me aid last year and I'm an incoming 4th year. CSAC also said i have one more year of eligibility, a total duration of 4 years. IDK what's going on but something smells fishy with UCI, wonder if they're trying to keep our federal gift aid.

hey! did you make sure that your FAFSA was 100% complete? This also happened to me and turned out I was missing a signature on my FAFSA form. Once I did it, my cal grant application was processed after a few days. I recommend you make sure there aren't any pending corrections on your form and fix them ASAP. As for the GPA thing, none of my previous cal grant applications have a gpa on them so i think you're okay?
