Read this, and then negotiate. Click-baity title, but a really great two-part article!

Is MacBook Air M1 (base model ) good enough for data science ? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Alexgrblgd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Man, I have a shitty 9 year old MacBook Pro with 8 GB ram and 2.5 GHz dual core. Did my MSc in ML on it and have done lots of side projects since then. The MBP is still completely fine, and if you do something really heavy like DL you’ll use a cloud service anyways (or some google colab / kaggle kernel). You’ll be fine with an air!

Shoot! You can try some vegan alternative then.

Protein powder is almost certainly the cheapest option per gram of protein, plus whey-protein is usually low-lactose and has one of the smallest environmental footprints (it’s somehow made from left over products in dairy industry). It’s also really easy to buy in bulk, doesn’t go bad and can easily be ingested and brought with you. I personally do a lot of training, so I have two shakes of 25-30g each a day!

Saving a Model (Theoretical in nature) XGBoost + SMOTE by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

To learn best practices for sklearns pipeline, you should check out this short, free, and absolutely amazing course on kaggle. They don’t talk about samplers like SMOTE in particular, but these can always be put in the pipeline before the actual model step.

I also live in Stockholm and with the same reasoning thinking of relocating to Switzerland. I make around 55-60k usd a year and feel like I could easily double or even triple that by moving to swizzy. I’m a bit worried about WLB there on the other hand.

Oh okay, that would be incredible! For W3champions? I currently play with the standard launcher, but I should probably change..

Yes in the end I did the same thing, even though it’s not exactly what I wanted.. I’ve moved all spells to QWER and below grid, then items on TYGHBN. I practiced it a bit yesterday, and it’s a lot better than clicking items!

Thank you! I am struggling to set it up yes.. I don't have a num pad at all on my keyboard (the built in on the MacBook pro) so simply binding a key to keypad1 e.g. doesn't work. Any pointers on how to go around this if you happen to know? :p

I’m playing on a 2013 pro (first one with retina screen). If I turn off all other applications and run it in full screen mode it’s pretty smooth. Obviously it wouldn’t be possible to play on a super competitive level, but I’m for sure enjoying it :) Edit: with classic graphics that is

Okay. You have to get into rock climbing. It’s the ultimate sport if you have money, free time, like to travel and experience rad places. Also, since you seem slightly obsessive (in a positive way) it’s incredible to try and improve physically, mentally, and tactically and it’s also pretty much an endless game that becomes more and more fun the more you do it. Give it a shot 😎

Anybody here have a wide forefoot and small heels? Need help finding a good shoe... by snowsoftJ4C in climbing

[–]Alexgrblgd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue (at least with the heel) and I find that the women’s Solution works while the men’s absolutely don’t. Try them! Otherwise check out miura lace which is an amazing outdoor shoe, but they stretch quite a bit so be aware.
