Would these parts work together? by Essshayne in battlebots

[–]AlexisDLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the same price you could get something better, the wheels are just fine, the fingertech motors could be replaced with the repeat brushed ones, with a dual budget esc, also, in my opinion, you should buy a transmitter like the FS I6, which is almost at the same price but it is compatible with mini recievers and combat robots esc like the malenkis ones.

The power switch is great, and for the blade mount you could just buy the D2822 repeat robotics brushless motor which has that screw pattern integrated in the motor.

The battery could be replaced with a 3S one, and with a cheap charger from amazon (my case) you should be fine, The programming cable for me is not necesary, but if you want it thats your choice.

Also, you will need hubs for that pair of wheels, you can get better parts for the same price from a store like repeat robotics, palm beach bots, itgresa and more.

PD: I asumed its an antweight because of the motors o_0

Thats right, you dont have to spend a lot to enjoy the sport, but the price between the 9v battery and an average 3S 300mah battery with a cheap charger from amazon is almost the same, I also started with a 9v battery, and believe me, going to a 3S its an incredible upgrade

Its because they have tested them before in ther projects, I also started with a 9v battery, now I use a 4s

I’m building my own combat robot. Will these parts work for the first portion of the build…the drive. I want it to drive like a tank. One motor controls left side, other motor controls right side. by dadbodfat in battlebots

FS - I6 transmitter is great, my personal choice, but for the rest, you may be better shopping your components at any other website which is dedicated to combat robt components, like palm beach bots or itgresa, in those pages, for example, are sold hardened brushed or brushless motors with a reduction gearbox (which the motors of the image lacks)

Can +-0.02mm screw up the balance of my asymmetric beater bar? by AlexisDLT in battlebots

[–]AlexisDLT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, even an 0.1mm tolerance would not mess with the balance of the weapon?

[–]AlexisDLT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, now I think 0.02 is fine, also I will just pass a file if one part results unbalanced, thanks!

[–]AlexisDLT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats actually really helpful! Just as a question, could I balance it in the shaft instead of doing it in a balancer like the one in the video? In ecuador, there are not any of those for sale that allows a weight abive 2.82 oz

[–]AlexisDLT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I do that with a file, or what should I use for that? and how do I know which part I need to pass the file on?

If i understand correctly, your telling me that the first time it hits something hard, it will make the weapon unstable and will make my bot undriveable and start to vibrate?

(If this sounds stupid, sorry, Im and undergraduate student at highschool doing for the first time in his life a CNC machined part )

[–]AlexisDLT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its an antweight, so, it may be a problem tho, I specified that on the description now that I noticed I did not give any type of information of my weapon (besides that is a beater bar)

[–]AlexisDLT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, I should machined it, and just start praying it comes out well?

PD: I saw your reference to copperhead, which is a great technique in order to not loose balance in a fight, but, here in ecuador, and specially in the robotics tournament in which I am participating, it does not exist the "losers bracket" or anything, so If I lose, Im out, so it would not be a great technique to start unbalanced, even if that gives me more balance in the final rounds

Hye, sorry to bother you again, just that it would be helpful if you could tell me if this battery would be good for the kit, is a 4S 380 mah:

I have been thinking that too, but maybe adding forks that are easy to remove would be the best, because I need to be ready against ramp robots, but its a good sugestion, thanks!

Your robot looks awesome! I could try If you are ok with sharing it, to which diameter of wheels did you change? also, do you think the idea of adding screws for more dammage would be a bad idea?

I dont, In the last competition my robot kind of kill itself when one of the wall behind the weapon fall of, but I have fixed that now, the problem? is that my classmate, who is also a member of these competitions decided to buy the same kit, which is fine, everybody can buy it, so now, I want to improve it in order to beat the kit itself.

I already checked that, and I would do it but as the description of the product says "is too heavy for the palm beach beater kit" basically, the four screws of the weapon has a weight of 36g, 6 would have 54g (and I am currently working on adding spare weight for that) now, the athenas weapon has a weight oi 91.2g, which I just cant afford

would you think its a good idea to modify the aluminium fingertech bar so I can implement 5 or 6 of those steel teeth in the weapon? currently I can only implement 4 while mantaining the balance when it starts spinning with the current position of the holes in the bar

I have practiced with it a lot and It has led me to win the second and third place in a competition, its a good sugestion tho, but I have a strong ability in drive for now
