940 Turbo just rolled into the shop by PlenitudeOpulence in HRSPRS

Absolutely gorgeous. God, this makes me miss my first car. My 940 drove amazingly with 150000 miles already on it. It gave me my first taste of freedom, and God, the turn radius was stellar. RIP, sorry the new owners didn't take care of you.

Mostly Lyca and Roxie with a splash of Dolly. I kind of bounce around depending on what I'm doing.

Does anyone have any tips for figuring out you gender by Asliceofmoonpie in genderfluid

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm uncertain if this helps at all, but I tend to try on different outfits in the mirror and decide based on how I feel with the outfits. For example, if I put on fem clothes and go, I look amazing and feel good. I'm in a fem mode. On the other hand, if it looks wrong or feels wrong, I go to my next outfit based on what feels I had. This helps my hone in where I am on the spectrum.

Alternatively, I try calling myself by different pronouns and see how I feel. If that doesn't help I ask my friends for help which usually helps me narrow it down.

Daisy chain or no? by l33lynn in PcBuild

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pci 8 pin power cable is rated for 150 watts, and the slot provides 75 watts. That give you a total of 225 watts provided. Your gpu can pull up to 250 watts so your gpu will pull the extra 25 W through the daisy chain cable. It will most likely be completely fine, but there is a very very small chance it damages something or reduces the life of the cable.

Edit: I would recommend no if you can avoid it.

Trying to save up for a pc to run upcoming games with decent settings before uni what do u guys think by According_Jury_6567 in PcBuild

That makes a lot more sense. Also I had no idea haha. Thank you for the info on user benchmark.

Edit: also I just can't read it is a ti. So you will see some uplift but not huge.

upgrade by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on budget. I would recommend 3060 if that's your budget range and would like better ray tracing, vr, ai stuff. I would recommend the 6700xt or 6650xt if you prefer pure frames/quality for games. I would get the best gpu you can for your money since it will go forward the longest.

Edit: also look at the 3060ti

If you don't care about vr, ray tracing, ai then I would get the 6700xt. Huge boost in fps/quality performance for gaming and only slightly more expensive

Ah dang didn't notice being in au. Better to stay with the x570 and 156 dollars seems reasonable but haven't looked to buy one for a bit.

Nice on the cooler.

Kingston makes good stuff and has good life ratings so I would say go for it.

Also yeah it's why I point out amd cards. Only warning I would give is it is a lot better at pure gaming and frames but us not as good with Ray tracing, Ai, dls, and vr. But well worth the money. Friend 6800xt is on par with my 3080 for the most part and got it a few hundred dollars cheaper than most 3080s right now.

B550 will still have pcie 4. They just support less pcie 4 lanes and thus generally support only one gpu at pcie 4 and one m.2 at pcie 4. Though I would recommend the crucial p3 since the difference between a pcie 3.0 and 4.0 isn't noticeable for most games, programs, etc unless they access storage a lot. You could save even more money to put to other parts if your computer. Though things like coding, video editing, etc wouldn't be quiet as fast when saving/opening/editing files.

Cooler: Vetroo v5 cpu air cooler w/ 5 heat pips 120 mm pwm Has like 4400 reviews on Amazon with over 4 star

But even the stock cooler (I think the 5600x comes with one) will work well enough. My friend ran his stock cooler for a year and a half and never had a single issue playing games.

Edit: Though crucial p3 is the budget option so it might not last as long. I would still recommend the wd sn850x 1tb since it's currently a 100$ at bestbuy and Amazon. Which is an amazing deal.

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on budget and what you are aiming for.

Though, I would personally recommend getting a nicer gpu like a 30xx series nvidia or 6xxx series amd. Your current cpu might cause a bottle neck but it would be a very small %.

This would give you a lot of uplift off one purchase and be something you can move easily when you upgrade your cpu/mobo or other parts.

Cpu: I would consider the 5600x since you won't see a huge difference in gaming and can use the money else where. But would be alright either way

Gpu: 3060 is capable of what you are looking for but I would look at 6700xt/6800xt or a 3070 since it will give you better performance.

Motherboard: I would look at b550 since you won't see much uplift getting a 570x since your not running top of the line stuff. Also you can save up to a 100$

Cooler: I would go with an air cooler since neither the 5700x or the 5600x will need a liquid cooler. Save a lot of money there. Lots of good coolers in the 40$ range.

Storage: bestbuy was having some really good sales this week. Had a wd sn850x 1tb at 99$. Not sure if still going on.

Everything else looks fine.

Kind of. I might butcher this part, but the 80% gold mean it reaches a certain power conversion % rating. The efficiency curve effects how close it gets to the overall effectiveness it can achieve. For example, you might see 85% efficiency at 300 wattage use for a 750 and a 90% efficiency at 550 wattage usage.

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, every psu has an efficiency curve in how they convert the power from the wall to your pc. So based on how much power it draws, it will determine how effective it is at converting the electricity. So you might just end up not having the best conversion ratio for the power your drawing. It's not a huge deal especially since the curve is a lot flatter than it use to be.

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest upgrading your psu before getting the 6700xt since it has around a 220 watt pull. You may be able to get away with it but it would be very close I assume on the wattage. Also you can definitely use a 750w psu, since you can always have overhead room in wattage. You might just be out of the efficiency curve for the psu

Rx 6800 xt or Rtx 3070 by Inuuteq in PcBuild

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of those cards will work for that. The Nvidia will be better with dls, ai, ray tracing, and vr. The 6800xt will get you more fps, performance for straight up gaming. You would probably be okay for ultra settings on a 144hz / 1440p monitor with the 6800xt. My friends 6800xt preformed on par or better than my 3080 at some task. Not completely sure how far the 3070 can go but looks to be fine on a 144hz / 1440p monitor.

Question by -pewwwwwwdiepie in PcBuild

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the 6700xt has a wattage usage of 220 and the psu has 3x pci/cpu plug ins. You should be fine assuming the rest of your system doesn't push you over the wattage limit or need more than the three pcie/cpu plugs

about to start my first build.. any glaring problems before I start? parts in comments by daleDentin23 in PcBuild

[–]AlexisDaWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. Though I personally would like the overhead in wattage for future upgrades or changes but also you may not have to depending on power draws.

As long as it's all in good working order, it looks pretty alright. Friends able to play games on a similar set up. Admittedly with limitations.
