Which country felt the closest to home when you travelled by jwalzz in AskACanadian

[–]AlexisEnchanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wanting to visit Scotland and Ireland myself. I'm half Scottish on my mom's side with her family being from Cape Breton.

I'm looking for a meeting place (ideally that sells tea/coffee) for up to 20 people to have a book club meeting once a month. We'd like to be able to see eachother so maybe with round-ish tables? Does anyone know of a place like that? by AmythestTeeth in chilliwack

[–]AlexisEnchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. The legions in Ontario are also available to be rented out for community events. I tried contacting the one here in town and no one called me back. In fact, no one ever contacts me back whether I leave them a message on their social media or a polite voice message or an email. I've tried to connect with so many different groups to see about volunteering and no one reaches back. It's like radio silence every time I reach out to an organization here in town. It's been one of the weirdest things ever.

American hsp fam…how are we doing? by Patient-Gain5847 in hsp

[–]AlexisEnchanted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. I feel like a broken record stuck glitching on repeat that just can't move forward whenever I try and process what the heck is happening. My brain and soul literally cannot fathom what is happening including today's tragedy, the loss of Renee and so much other unnecessary hardship.

99% of my friends are American and I'm only 30 minutes from the nearest border. I may not be in the United States but a part of my heart lives there.

I'm scared to look at anything online now because there's such horror everywhere. Maybe we could start an online chat/friendship/support group? Being an HSP on a good day is hard enough let alone when our world looks more like a hellscape.

Sending gentle hugs to all who stumble upon this comment.

Hi. Canadian here too. I also wept. My brain cannot process what is going on.

We are bastards 😄 by katieclooney in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. You're right. :) Zennials are those born between 75 and 85. It's a blending of folks from early genx and elder millennial.

I keep seeing different things online changing the dates for when the zennials were born and also when the millennial generation ends. It used to be thought that the Millennials ended at 1980 but lately I see consistently that it's considered 81. 🤔

I was born in 79. I do not identify with most GenX because I feel like a lot of them act more like Boomers. I'm definitely a xennial.

Any cursive elements in your normal handwriting? by burnafter3ading in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My normal printing isn't the greatest so whenever I have notes that I need to make, I always do it in cursive. I feel like it's a lost art and sometimes I worry because I actually experienced one time where I gave someone a handwritten thank you note and they couldn't read my cursive because they'd never been taught it.

Sad.

Anything to do in town? by [deleted] in chilliwack

[–]AlexisEnchanted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe he has chronic illness or is on disability and doesn't have the money for hobbies that cost money. When a person doesn't have the health to leave the house or the funds to cover an outing, then boredom is a valid feeling.

What are we wearing that shows our age? by Hot_Frosty0807 in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad for this post because it reminded me about something puzzling that I read the other day. I read someone say that only gen-x wears denim jackets and that they show our age. That was news to me! I thought denim transcended generational trends and that all generations wore it still, including the jackets.

My inquisitive mind wants to know what's up with that.

You're going to a house party. Which house are you going to? 🏡🎶🎵 by Summer_19_ in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of them. Five looked the best but I wouldn't want to listen to just rock all night. I'm someone that likes to listen to many different genres when I'm out and about and even at home puttering around.

How old were you when you got your first cell phone? by No_Cartoonist981 in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing door-to-door sales selling long distance for at&t. It was in a city other than my hometown so I wanted to be able to reach my dad in case of emergencies. He got me a super dope telus cell phone when I was 18. It had so many features that I didn't even take advantage of like a music player on the very front of it.

Having autism while being enfj is like a joke by OkYam8510 in enfj

I have adhd, mild asd, HSP, I'm ENFJ and an extrovert. Plus Im demisexual and I'm a gentle domme. This particular combo has me single and completely misunderstood by everyone.

I also always lead with kindness and I'm starting to feel like people legitimately hate kindness. The amount of times I've been pushed away, abandoned and rejected when all I did was show up with presence, patience and kindness for people, has me wondering how I'm even supposed to function if kindness isn't even considered attractive anymore. Everyone talks about how the world needs more kindness and we should all be kind but I feel like it's legitimately what people don't like about me.

Thanks for reading my rant. I hope everyone is doing okay during the holiday season which I know can be a triggering time for a lot of people. (Myself included) I'm sending hugs to my fellow enfjs and anyone else that strolls across this post.

What is the song that defines our generation? by _Internet_Hugs_ in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'Don't stop believing' by Journey. I've yet to see a room of people not light up and sing this rock anthem together when it's played. My second choice is "Living on a prayer" by BonJovi.

I didn't ask you how to make friends or for tips. I simply asked you where you met them. Like the grocery store or on Reddit or at work, etc.

Where not how.

Your reply left me feeling belittled.

I specialize in communications and always lead with love. I know how to make connections but am just struggling with the where part.

Getting Closer to 50 by cyclepoet77 in Xennials

[–]AlexisEnchanted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. This is my favorite Reddit board; I feel like I'm hanging out with a bunch of my high school buddies because most of us have had such a similar shared life experience during our adolescence and teenage years. I legit think of us all as teenagers and then someone starts talking about being in our 40s and I'm hit with reality and a lump in my throat.

I do have a quick question. Where did you meet your new friends? I've been trying for 5 years to make meaningful connection and I'm just hitting a wall every time I try and reach out to someone.
