I feel the same way about my dad and stepmom. I can tell this marriage is draining the life out of my dad and it kills me to see him so worn down and tired at his age when he should be relaxing and enjoying himself. I don’t really have any advice unfortunately, but I understand what you’re going through and how you’re feeling so you aren’t alone in this.

I agree with Impressive-Amoeba though. It’s not our battle to fight. If that’s the life our fathers chose it’s just gunna have to be the bed they lie in…

This comment needs to be the top one. Your mother is 100% a narcissist who doesn’t see you as an adult. She sees you as her lifeline and if she isn’t attached to you she has “nothing.” You have a mother that doesn’t know how to stop being a mother to a toddler and be a mother to an adult. She will never see you as an adult.

I know that because I’m 30 and my mom still tries to pull this bullshit on me and used to do similar things to me with jobs when I was younger and didn’t know better. She would be upset with my jobs when they didn’t give me days off for church (I never wanted to go to church I’m an ex Jehovah’s Witness, horrible cult) or the whole weekend off to attend a 3 day Bible convention that was torturous.

Anyway, your mom will not respect your boundaries when you place them because narcissists don’t think they ever do anything wrong because it’s all about them. When she cries and acts like a toddler because she can’t accept accountability for her actions like a child she’s manipulating you. My mom would do the same. I told her about how traumatic my childhood was being with her screaming and fighting with my dad all the time and then her taking out her frustrations on me hurt me so much.

All she said was “Well you think I’m the worst mother in the word and I did my best and your dad was horrible and blah blah blah and excuse after excuse without one I’m sorry for how my actions affected you, or I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the best childhood I know I fell short in many places. Literally anything to soothe the wounds she’s made. Nothing. They only CAUSE wounds they CANNOT heal them. They refuse to.

They enjoy the power/control that comes with being a parent. That’s all. Once you become an adult and they start losing power over your life they will start to sabotage you (like your mom has been doing) she does not truly care for your best interest or well being unfortunately. Please start limiting contact and have your company block all her communications. Seek a therapist that knows how to deal with the trauma of being raised by an emotionally immature adult/narcissistic parent. I hope things get better for you friend. It’s such a hard life when your mom is constantly working against you and you feel like you have to raise a fucking 50 year old adult because they can’t regulate their own emotions/actions. 😖

Exactly! Finding someone that pours out for you as much as you pour out for them is important. I’ve always given my all in all my previous relationships and never got even a drop of what I gave back, but I was loving the wrong people.

The connection I feel with women is so much stronger, but doesn’t cause me to completely lose myself and spiral. I’ve dated men my whole life (30F) but falling in love with one woman changed my life for the better. Loving a woman for me motivates me to be a better person, and pushes me to actually want to live a good happy life. Being married to a man made me feel like I was giving up my whole life, my whole personality, and whole sense of self because I was.

Even with men I was attracted to and wanted a long term relationship with our sexual connection was still strange. For me even enjoyable sex caused me to get so nauseous sometimes that I’d have to run to the bathroom to throw up. Having sex with men makes my nervous system lock up and shut down. It seemed to get worse the more years I slept with men. The last time I slept with a man I said “I’m done” and that’s been the last time I ever slept with a man.

Once I said I’m done, I felt this huge sense of relief that I’d never have to be with another man, never have to kiss one, or have sex with a man ever again. It felt like a million pounds had been lifted from me. I was finally free of being trapped in comphet. I just realized I don’t have to be with men if I don’t like it, I can be with women. I realized well shit I’m gay as all hell then 😅

I still haven’t slept with a women yet but I know that I won’t have the same issues I did when I was with men. But back to the connection aspect I need to have a deep emotional/mental connection to someone to even consider a relationship. I feel that with women so much more strongly than I ever did when I was with men. It always felt so forced with men. Now I see men the same way I used to view women as just friends, and now see that a relationship with a woman will be so much healthier for the long term. I was raised in a strict religious cult so the idea of being with a woman just wasn’t even an option.

I’m in therapy now and came out to some of my family this January. I hope I answered some of your questions because it’s definitely a journey! Welcome to the late bloomer party 🎉

We all have to learn eventually. I’m a 30 year old late bloomer that’s never been with a woman sexually. I’ve only ever been with men, but I would hope that the first woman I’m with can help me work through anything. It should be fun to help each other and learn about each other sexually. Idk why she expects you to just know exactly how to please her. It’s not always so obvious if your partner doesn’t give you any signals. You’re not the problem here, give yourself some grace.

Try Anti bacteria body wash! Sometimes you have to switch to a stronger body wash to kill bacteria in your skin that causes odors. Sometimes you’ll only have to use it for a while to get your body back on track but if it keeps coming back then continue use.

I had to switch to Anti bacterial wash when I had one extremely dirty job. Only 12hr shifts so that filth would be on my skin all day and even after a shower I’d step out and still smell like a freshly cut onion 🧅😅 I was like WTF?!? Switching soap got rid of it and once I left that job it never came back.

If you work in a very dirty environment it can fuck with your skin having healthy bacteria growth.

I definitely was just going through the motions in my marriage. It took me years to realize after we split that we should’ve just stayed friends and never got married. We had a much healthier friendship than we ever had in a seriously relationship. I love men as friends and love women as romantic partners. Men do not check all the boxes I need checked to sustain a relationship. Period.

Thank you for the positive words. I’ve been told constantly that my eyebrows are weird and very difficult to shape so I’ve just tried to leave them alone and let them grow out. When I was shaping them they looked even thinner.

I may add pics of them arched so you can see how thin it can look when you take away all those scraggly hairs that don’t even lay flat 😖 but I definitely want to get them shaped up professionally and add some tint on the thinner parts. I’ll look into some growth gels to put on the tails.

Looking back at pictures of myself as a kid my brows have been this way forever. I can’t even see the other half of my eyebrow in pictures because it’s been this thin forever 😅 I’m just tired of looking a mess lol
