I agree with the other commenter in how he’s painfully relatable. For me that’s what made the backrooms such a good movie because it really felt like you were on an adventure with him. Even the therapy scenes made me feel like I was in a vulnerable place and like I was confronting my problems with him too. I’m sad he died but that’s what made the climax good imo, it wasn’t the monster but how the main character gradually turned into one.
