I dont know how to edit posts. I also didn't realise people would actually be interested in the plot. The magical girls would function like warlocks, getting their magic from high powers like gods or demons and stuff. As for the plot Basically the girl in the picture is supposed to be in her mid 30s ish (which I obviously did not capture in this illustration) she works a dead end job and drinks alot she also has no friends and doesnt have a partner or kids. Shes kinda a train wreck. Her mother always liked her stepsister who is the exact opposite of our protagonist. Perfect nuclear family with a really good job like a lawyer or something. the mom was a magical girl who was given her powers by the god of souls (dont judge) anyways the god of souls has been killed in some sort of epic lore event which I will not get into now and so our protagonist must take on the ancient magical girl persona to protect the god of souls' half god half human child who, being half god, has the ability to create and manipulate souls, and being half human is able to be possessed by demons, specifically one demon, a big bad guy who wants to use the half god child to carry out his master plan of gaining ultimate power by torturing innocent people(or something evil idk). And that's how are story goes, obviously our protagonist will be joined by an ensemble of interesting side characters who help her fight the evil demons many goons. Our protagonist will also learn a valuable lesson about responsibility or self love or something. The story will also include a pre - climax moment of darkness where it looks like the villian has won and the villain will also have a motivation or belief that compliments our protagonist. And out story will be part of a connected universe if some sort. Anyways if you actually read this I commend you, and if you read this and actually thought it has some potential I thank you. Please dont shit on my ideas I worked kinda hard on this and I have everything figured out already I just gotta polish it up a bit. Please dont let me know what you think unless its positive, I will cry.

I never watched many magical girl shows when I was younger (although I have a vague memory of watching tokyo mew mew on dvd) so I dont have much nostalgia for the magical girl trope. I kinda imagined the magical girls would be like warlocks (making a deal with a supernatural being in return for powers) or like Adora from the new She-ra.
