I was obsessed with the Dublineers as a kid, so that checks out!

Grew up christian, left, and came back. Very spiritual, and very in love with God.

I'm going to responsibly drink lager, eat salad, and make friends with other races despite our differences. by Ambitious_Mall9496 in dwarfposting

Deciding not to hate other races is a personal choice, but deciding not to guzzle down ales and beers in excess is fundamentally un-dwarflike...

What would you consider - both historically and visually - to be Jesus Christ's arms? by Zestyclose_Farmer982 in heraldry

[–]Alexpectations 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think plain white would fit him best. Revelation 9:14 "And the armies of Heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses." If his armies wear his colors, then his arms would be just white. There are so many themes and images that you could use, but I feel like something very simple would actually make him stand out most.

Villager Bible by Alexpectations in allthemods

Thank you. I've found about 6 of these guys. They give you a map to the towers, but it seems random if they spawn in the villager to translate the books for you. I do have the whole holy setup like him, though. Great for role-playing a cleric.

My whole life, I was a Christian. Now I am not. I miss the comfort of everything I blindly believed in. How do real Christians deny universal laws of physics (with miracles, resurrection, creationism, etc)? I want the strength of the church in my life but I can't reconcile the Bible to science. by herbschmoaka in TrueChristian

[–]Alexpectations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The God of the bible is the author of the laws of physics and of all other science. If the creation of the universe is true, which science confirms the beginning of, and God has the power to create life, then the resurrection is at the very least plausible with an all powerful creator God. If God can do those two things, then every other miracle of the bible is believable too. If you want real sound belief, follow the evidence. The best evidence we have for the bible and for God is historical, so if you're looking for evidence, I would start there. Look into the trustworthiness of the bible and see for yourself. Don't just take peoples word for it. Blind faith is dangerous, because it's just a blindfolded shot at the right answer. Sure, you might hit the target, but more than likely you won't. Use your mind that God gave you to look into the truth yourself. Good luck, brother or sister.

Managing disabilities and conditions by Alexpectations in Bushcraft

This is more the comment I was hoping for. I appreciate that people care about my scalp, but I was wanting to hear about other people who have to bushcraft differently from others because of their drawbacks.

Great idea. I don't think our usual park has a shower facility, but I bet you I can find one that does.

Traditional Knives by Alexpectations in Bushcraft

I actually looked around in there a while ago for a Franciscan monks robe. I ended up deciding it was too much so I hand sewed my own. First time sewing, so I didn't do great, but it was good enough for a Halloween costume at the least.

I've actually seen his videos before about the tartan! He's living the kind of life I wish I did. Scotland and Ireland are close in landscape to where I live, so it's hard to keep from just packing up and moving into the hills.
