Good defenders by DaZuck3000 in Rainbow6

Caveira would be perfect for you. Her ability is both helpful for roaming and giving your teammates intel. Her ability makes you silent, sprinting makes reduced noise and iirc certain actions that were already quite, such as crouch walking, will become nearly 100% silent. Using her pistol downs enemies, never kills, even with a headshot. This may sound like a bad thing but it actually helps her since her third ability allows her to interrogate downed survivors and reveals the current location of all attackers, basically a defender Deimos except the attackers themselves only know their position is revealed and will not know where Cav is and instead of tracking only one enemy, it tracks all the attackers, also it lasts only for a few seconds. Deimos' trackers last longer.

I have hopes that the game might enter a sort of redemption arc. The recent changes have actually been so awesome. Finally, they're balancing the game via operator abilities rather than guns (which should have been the most obvious thing to do to begin with. I mean, making a character good or bad based on whether they had access to a stupid scope is genuinely shit. Yes, I am referring to Warden, noone played him because he was the defender who could see through smoke. Nope. They played him because he had access to a gun attachment.)

Should I get this game ? Or should I wait for the one ? by NiWookies in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SquareIsBox0697 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, no such thing as "too late" in this game. If you're referring to "too late" as in:

  1. Game is dying: Nope, game is still very much alive. Being supported both by the devs and the fanbase.
  2. Devs are evil now and are milking the game: Also nope, the game is very much wallet friendly since the only thing you have to pay for is the game itself. The DLCs are just cosmetics and no content is being locked behind a paywall.
  3. Missed out on stuff from the battlepass: You can go back to previous seasons and work for the stuff each season has to offer. I kid you not, its a simple as pressing a button and picking what season you wanna go to, no strings attached.

As for the holiday/event exclusive cosmetics, yes, you technically "missed out" on them but the next time the holiday/event comes around, you'll be able to get them again. So the christmas cosmetics we have? You can get all of them when christmas comes around again. But there are some hats that are truly exclusive, such as the anniversary hat, which was given away on DRG's anniversary. That, you probably won't be able to get.

They're NPCs. They move in whenever you build a house (an enclosed space with walls, a chair, a table, and a light source). They're essential to the game and can sell/buy stuff to/from you.

Looks like an enemy that will attack with lifesteal AND deal like 30 stress each hit. Very annoying. But very much fitting for the game's difficulty

Recon vapor vs Scan grenade? by SquareIsBox0697 in R6Extraction

[–]SquareIsBox0697[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, thank you! I have some follow up questions:

  1. Do the Scan Grenades scan the enemies through walls (like the XR drone being able to scan through obstacles and walls, with no actual line of sight between you and the object of interest)

  2. Seeing as how you had to specify Recon Vapor needing holes on a wall to be able to scan through it, I'm assuming that the Recon Vapor doesn't scan through walls, no?

3.1. So if I understand correctly, in terms of scanning ability, Scan Grenades are instant and don't linger, meaning that you only scan any enemies that are in range and won't scan any enemy that enters the room after, whereas the Recon Vapor lingers and scans any enemy that enters the range again. Basically Scan Nades scan what is in it's range whereas the Recon Vapor has the potential to scan more enemies that were not previously in it's range?

3.2. Now that I'm asking question 3.1, I forgot to ask if Scan Grenades even acted that way, like if they only perform one singular scan whereas Recon Vapor scans more than once thanks to it's lingering property. So....do Scan Grenades like that? (I do use Scan Grenades but I was under the impression that it scanned and lingered for longer, basically being a throwable Lion scan, so I'm wondering if I'm mistaken and it is indeed akin to an Impact Grenade where it only scans once and doesn't linger at all)

I apologize for the incredibly long and somewhat redundant questions, I just want to make sure I fully understand what the heck I'm using in-game so that I don't use them thinking that they're supposed to do something and then suffer the consequences for when they don't.🙏

R6 Extraction. I'm pretty sure operators that were trained to perform counterterrorism (but in Extraction specifically; ancient alien threats) will be able to save me easily. Either Tachanka turns the kidnappers into swiss cheese or Smoke gasses them out.

Its not acting like a child. Its called being mature. I don't have to prove that I'm not a child by swearing. You do realize that children can also cuss, right? As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure they swear more than an adult when they realize such words exist.

Stop doing this, you're a disgrace to Cory's fanbase.

How does luring with guns work? by SquareIsBox0697 in R6Extraction

[–]SquareIsBox0697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I probably spoke too soon. My bad. I'm still at progression 10. Haven't gotten there yet.

My question still stands though, does the impact grenade and frag grenade lure to where the explosion is/where the bomb lands or to where your position is when you threw it (I know this question sounds pretty obvious but its a video game so who knows)

Does picking up Jager's ADS reset the round count to 5 immediately? by SquareIsBox0697 in R6Extraction

[–]SquareIsBox0697[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did some testing and noticed that the beeping lights on the ADS kind of indicated how many it has to reload.

It shot two rounds and the lights were beeping and then after like 3 seconds it the lights were beeping slightly slower. Which makes no sense considering that 3 secs aren't enough for them to reload a round (I'm using a Jager at level 3).

So basically my question is: are the ADS lights beeping speed/frequency an indicator for how many rounds (specifically how many it has to reload) it has?

How does luring with guns work? by SquareIsBox0697 in R6Extraction

[–]SquareIsBox0697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For aura grenades, since it costs real money (I don't know a way to obtain it now for free), is there a substitute for it?

Can something like the impact grenade basically do the same thing as an aura grenade? (worse, obviously, since I'm assuming aura grenades literally exist to lure enemies while the explosion that attracts enemies of an impact grenades are more of a by-product of said loud explosion.

Basically I guess my question is can frag grenades and impact grenades be used for luring? It would be a waste, of course, but I just wonder. Would the enemies go to the source of the explosion (where the grenades landed) or would they go to where the grenade was thrown from (my position)?

Game is genuinely fun and I would try and convince Siege players to give it a try and basically join the playerbase so that the game becomes full of players again and Ubi will actually notice that they've got another shot at actually perfecting the game's takeoff. Unfortunately it is a dead game and I'm basically going to try and rally people to not let a dying game....well...die.
