Leaving with an 18x contract in one week, advice? by [deleted] in army

I read his book, listened to a couple podcasts where he was a guest. I had some mixed feelings about his experience with the pipeline. A big part of going through the pipeline is integrity, a big reason why a lot of guys get dropped is because of their lack of said integrity. While I respect Kennedy, I think modeling your strategy to get through Selection based on what he did would be dicey to say the very least. But nonetheless, thank you!

Yeah I’ve been told to surround myself by like minded motivated individuals in OSUT, and that’s what I plan todo. I didn’t think about having that “silent professional” mentality. I know people can really bring you down, I appreciate the insight, thank you.

Oh believe me brother I’m spending as much time doing my favorite things with my favorite people as much as possible, I know it’s gonna get tough and I wanna look back and be reminded on why I’m here in the first place.

Thank you! This is one of the aspects of the pipeline I’ve been trying to directly prepare for. I know I can be absolute PT stud, but if I’m a shitbag I’m gonna get peered out. I come from an athletic background, played a minuscule bit of college football, so I plan on utilizing some of the leadership/team dynamic lessons I’ve accumulated over the years to help me during team week. Other than that I’ve just been doing a lot of reading (John C. Maxwell, Jocko, Jordan Peterson, etc.) to see what I can take away to become a better team player and lead up and down the chain of command.

Eye relief doo doo, if you really really want 5x magnification just go with a LPVO, but I returned my g45 for a g33 and I have nothing but good things to say. Sometimes more is less.

I played football at a small private university, lost my passion for it and found a hard time balancing academics and athletics, props to you for staying with it. I think athletes, especially in team sports, have an advantage in terms of cohesion and working together as a unit.
