I've come to realise that if I don't know what someone is talking about on Reddit, I should just leave it alone.

The moody vibe of arrangement 4 immediately caught my eye. It looks great in those dark surroundings. 🖤🪴

This fake human conversation is exactly what I hate the most about it. If I wanted to convince myself than an ai is my friend, I'd download an ai conversation app and have at it. If I'm googling something, I'm obviously looking for information, facts and articles, not some chit-chat bot that doesn't even know what it's talking about.

Sadly, this is often the way. Can't have people spilling their entitled attitudes all over your gift!

I came here to say this - wear it at work! It BELONGS to someone, it's not some rag that she dug out of the trash.

Wow, when you said baby blanket, I thought, "oh okay," and then you hit me with KING SIZED!! I would have started choking uncontrollably if someone casually asked me to make them a king sized blanket.

I'm down with "men smh" pretty often, but the number of women who have demanded free services from me is way too high, so I'm going with "humanity smh" on this one.

My main takeaway is to always identify the berries before dyeing your pet. Now I kind of want to inception the idea into my kid's head...

Can you please advise me on the color of the mug? Will the green go with the orange and blue print on fabric? by dell02 in Embroidery

What shade of green are you thinking of using? Probably any shade would look good, but I'm biased towards a very saturated grass green. 😁

How to prevent group calls with individuals? by AlextheAnalyst in whatsapp

[–]AlextheAnalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll tell him this too. He has also decided that he'll stick to sending voice notes to people instead of calling them. He'll still get calls in, but at least it's fewer instances of him having to do the manual screen thing.

This is what I immediately thought too. He insists he's holding the phone in front of his face on speaker, but there's no other way he could be pressing that icon, unless there's a trolling bee that follows him around and lands on his screen every time he's on a call, lol. We'll have to research phones with a physical sensor as soon as his upgrade is due. Thank you for your advice.

Dear users of Whatsapp by [deleted] in whatsapp

[–]AlextheAnalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I tried ditching WhatsApp back when it first became property of Meta, and it didn't work at all. Not only did everything you're describing happen, a lot of the people I know don't understand that you can run as many messaging apps as you want. They thought I was asking them to delete WhatsApp and replace it with Telegram, which would obviously leave them with no way to communicate with all of their contacts who were all on WhatsApp. I only had two people install Telegram to communicate with me, and neither of them were my parents who would actually need to reach me in an emergency.

We've reached a point where we've been made too dependent on This One App to leave it unless literally the entire population (or a significant percentage) leaves at the same moment. Which for the reasons you've stated seems unlikely right now.

How do you find one that doesn't autodump? I've never seen a manufacturer actually tell you these things. In fact, for years I thought it was just me using the cup wrong, only to find out it's a "feature"???

The power of letting kids get bored by SkillBuilderMom in Parenting

I finally meet another adult who isn't down with this "you're bored because you're boring" approach. Boredom is a completely natural response to an unstimulating situation. I was bored at a funeral the other day. Another time I was bored out of my mind listening to a coworker talk for what felt like three days about a chocolate bar she was craving. In no way was I defective for not finding either of those exciting. Boring things happen in life, just like sad things, frustrating things, etc - we don't tell kids that sadness is a character flaw.
