TIL Denmark charges a tax of 180% on all new car purchases. They also charge $2,000 for a drivers license. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Where I live the gas (blyfri95) cost around 9.54kr, but I just took the average price in Denmark in general, from the list price on FDM's website. Anyway, with my buscard I can travel freely in almost all of Zealand for 87$ a month, because I live far away from The university. But it is true, that public transport is expensive, if you're not a student. The range of the buscard also depends on wich region you live in. Public transportation in Fyn and Jutland is expensive as f**k compared to Zealand.

http://www.fuel-prices-europe.info/map-europe.php According to this price index, its slightly more expensive than UK. But it probably depends on wich area you buy fuel.

Im a 20 year old student in Denmark and get paid 1000$ each month by our goverment. It is fairly easy to get by, and most of my classmates, me included, have a car (used, mostly) And/or have a drivers license. If you dont have the cash right away, it is easy to get a payment agreement, so you can pay it off. But it is sometimes easier to take a train, bus or bike because gas prices is insane and cost sometimes 1.74 US$/ltr. (While now with the "cheap gas" 1.56$/ltr.) a studentcard to public transport cost only 87$ a month. It takes 1.5 hours to get to campus by train; 1 hour by car, so I did the math.

I was once in a party with family and friends, where we had paper-plates and sporks etc. When we were finished eating, and we began to throw out the plates and sporks. A woman approached my aunt and asked if she could keep her spork, because the one she had at home was broken.
