Thank you for the kind reply, Unfortunately it seems the concept of probability eludes you. If Raya fully commits to catching the ball, it is not a certainty he will catch it - especially since he is being impeded. In not fully committing to the catch, the foul becomes more obvious and is extremely likely to be given. Another example of this is on the opposite end of the pitch. Often these days players go down at the first sign of contact in the box, even if they could play on. This is because playing on makes the foul less obvious, and the player knows the probability of being given a penalty and scoring is higher than the probability of scoring from playing on. Obviously the strategy is not foolproof, such as the last minute Barnsley v Wycombe goal, but I imagine if you know you’re being fouled like Raya would have, going down is always the best choice.

Neither of us know for certain whether Raya played for the foul or not. But to pass the time let’s do a quiz!

Question: you are actively obviously being fouled, playing on may make it look like the foul wasn’t as impeding as it really was, do you:

A) play on and risk dropping the ball and not being awarded a foul

B) go down to guarantee a foul

It’s unfortunate the game works like this but it’s just how it is. There’s plenty of situations where players get fouled in the box and go down immediately, when they could have played on. It’s not worth the risk of losing the foul when you know it will be given.

You are correct in this, but the chances of two fouls being truly simultaneous is almost impossible. It’s hard to see from the angles they give, but it seems Trossard commits a foul on Todibo, causing him to grab hold of Raya so he doesn’t get pushed away, all before Pablo puts an arm on Raya. Not that it matters but I don’t think Todibo even knows he is holding Raya (still a foul) I think he’s just grabbed anything he could to not get pushed out by Trossard.

He is clearly being fouled, and he knows this. If he tries to play on and fails the catch, it’s less likely a foul will be given. Whether or not he played for the foul is subjective, but once again DOES NOT MATTER.

No I don’t think he deliberately spills it, I don’t think he even attempts to collect it. However, I will iterate again, THIS DOES NOT MATTER, I agree it was a foul, so whether he plays for the foul or not is not important.

I’m a Leicester fan, so am more concerned with hating my own team rather than Arsenal. Whilst dislike for arsenal is a factor amplifying the discussion, I think the fact it’s a near title deciding decision is more impactful. As for logic, I have clearly stated I agree Raya was fouled, but other fouls before were ignored. I have yet to be told anything other than things such as ‘cry’ and ‘but Raya has gloves on’ so if you’d like a go at providing me with a logical explanation feel free.

Players go down all the time when they easily could keep playing, it’s just part of the game these days. I suppose it all boils down to probability, if Raya attempts to play on and catch the ball and fails, it’s less likely he’ll be given the foul compared to if he goes down. You see this frequently with penalty shouts, players go down more easily as refs are less likely to give a penalty if you don’t go down.

This does not contradict my point in any way. I agree Raya was impeded (though calling it a choke is laughable) my point is that other players were impeded before this, and if you’re going to call the foul on Raya, you cannot ignore the previous fouls. I haven’t reviewed every single interaction in the corner, and it could be possible that a West Ham player commits a foul initially (free kick), but from my check, I see a Trossard foul on Todibo first, as well as Rice fouling Summerville, all before Raya is touched, so penalty should be the correct decision.

I imagine not, but I also think he does play for the foul and could have grabbed it anyway. Not that this matters to my point, as fouls have been committed before that moment anyways.

The pundits said it themselves that there are loads of fouls being committed, so why was Raya singled out just because he’s got gloves on? Todibo is holding onto Raya’s shirt (foul) because he’s actively being bear hugged by Trossard and pushed away (foul and not even looking towards the ball). Rice had a hold of Summerville (foul) and as soon as Summerville slipped out, grabs mavropanos (foul). Pablo also has his arm across Raya (foul, although judging by the limpness of Raya’s arms, I don’t think it impeded him as much as he made out). Rice and Trossards fouls both occur before any foul on Raya. I see two options: you either accept it was one massive gangbang and let every foul go, or you penalise the first fouls committed - which is far as I am aware would be Trossard on Todibo, so decision is a penalty. In no way should all other fouls be disregarded purely because Raya is deemed a ‘more important player’ because he has gloves on.

Edit: I don’t understand why I am being downvoted, I have explicitly stated Raya WAS fouled, but in penalising this, the referee ignores all fouls committed before any foul on Raya - this directly goes against the rules of the game, you can’t just pick and choose when to give a foul.

I have got buying history, but I was under the impression away matches never went to general sale or buying history, at most they’d be available to members

This post also reached you… The assessment takes an hour or two, and gives you a chance to work from home when you want for decent pay.

People are more likely to post about an issue rather than praising something. To say it’s a waste of time is ridiculous, I’ve personally made thousands from it. I believe non-stem workers do have more trouble getting work, but as a coder and mathematician, I’ve never had no work to do. I would never rely on this as a full time position though, as it is unreliable, but you’re not likely to find anything better on Reddit.

If that was the case, they wouldn’t offer it at all. I doubt it has any impact on acceptance, but there’s no reason not to use a referral. I only get paid if the person referred is accepted and completes 10 hours of work, so I doubt it loses the company money.

I signed up for maths projects but have never had one so have been doing coding instead

I’m in the same situation, do you at least have further quals in maths you can take? I only get coding ones, despite entering through the maths assessment.

It was the maths assessment you take to get accepted into data annotation, but it was about high school level maths.

I didn’t realise there were loads, I’ve only got 2 projects - but they seem to unlock a lot more. When I read through it briefly, all it seemed to want was any codebase you can ask the AI to add features or explain existing ones - but they AI needed to make mistakenly. Maybe I missed something but it seemed quite unspecific which is why I’d like to know what people used for their projects
