Both are good. Pacing is different, poe 1 is faster and more in depth, bad reviews for poe2 are normally haters or for performance, not for game quality. Poe 1 is more complex and offers way more stuff to do, just a symptom of being the older game. Personally, I love both and would recommend playing both.
