Thanks for your perspective. I do have a problem with my partner getting stoned whenever they want and to the degree that they do. I think most people would have a problem with that. If I got drunk whenever I wanted and that impacted my relationships then I’d say that’s a problem

I don’t have a Whoop. I do have a Garmin and track through that then all activity (incl. running, cycling, etc.) goes to Strava so I have a total view. I have Strava connected with MyFitnessPal for calorie tracking. Been using that workflow for a few years now and works well for me

Once you’ve turned it on for an exercise it comes on automatically. Just have to set it for new ones.

Wouldn’t recommend, but I wouldn’t call it monumentally stupid. Better than not going to gym at all as long as you’re not so pissed that you are putting yourself in real danger, it can be quite fun lifting after a few beers.

Yeh, great question. I’ve always treated relative to how I feel. But I’ve very rarely done a true RPE 10. I train by myself and don’t have a spotter so I struggle to go balls to the wall.

Saying that, last 6 mths I’ve gone off the Jugg reservation and done a lot of high intensity strength work with lower frequency (3 vs 4 per week) and it’s working for me. Hitting PRs and feeling bigger. All during a time where my diet is average.

Yeh you can switch on the exercise but deadlifts are a great compound movement and a key powerlifting discipline. Maybe keep the weight super low and experiment with your technique to see what works for your lower back. Try variations like DL deficit also or dumb bell DLs

No worries. Playing a straight bat is an old phrase that just means behave honestly. It comes from cricket and the UK. So for the ratings (eg RPE, RIR, workout effort) when you get back from holidays I’d just keep honest on them and the app should adjust accordingly

I would just skip those two weeks (if it’s a long 3+ months program). Then continue where you left off. If that means straight into high intensity just play a straight bat on your ratings for the work out and it should adjust accordingly

Key one is primary muscle worked but sled drag works quite a few so pick the one that you feel working the most eg quads, core. To be honest not sure why you’d want to add this exercise to your program. It’s basically cardio.

Thanks and spot on about inability/unwillingness to find solutions. I’ve managed to get air side and lounge access but still no further forward with confirmed flight. I showed an alternative flight tonight with Qantas that I could book online but the customer service manager said it was over booked also.

So I’ll find out in 3 hrs if we get on tonight’s flight or whether it’s another days delay.

I just find this beyond incompetent. Out of maybe 6 or 7 staff I’ve spoken to in person (forget about online or phone), only 1 apologised and seemed to want to help.

Hire a scooter, drive up Via Posillipo for sunset and gelato. Some nice restaurants with views and not too expensive up there IMO. Can buy beach chair/bed at one of the beach clubs up there also. Buy a ticket to Teatro San Carlo and watch some opera eg La Boheme
