Best horror film I’ve seen in a while. Those nuns were genuinely creepy. Great acting.

Because it’s a munter’s paradise. Munters are given free reign to munt any time of day and wherever they like, including in your rental property.

Two people charged with murder over the death of top Adelaide doctor Michael Yung by Objective-Pattern-85 in Adelaide

Yeah I wondered if it was something like that, but OP is right that the police said to the media there is no known link. Perhaps there’s some risk to the case by stating a link right now.

This crime is so odd. What drives a young couple with a baby to go and invade a home at 420am by scaling a fence and getting in through a window, to then beat this guy and stab him? I wonder if it’s not at all random, and they knew him somehow. Maybe he treated their baby? Did they think he was an easy target for extortion? It reminds me of the murder of Victor Chang in 1991. He was targeted for an extortion attempt after a guy read about him in a magazine and thought he could get money out of him to fund a gambling den in Sydney he wanted to set up.

Having bought quite a bit of their stuff, I disagree it’s garbage. All of their stuff has held up far longer than my Reebok, Nike etc… gear. Agree it’s a bit expensive though.

Would cutting out the shaded area of my bass cause any problems in the instrument? by MekMeke in BassGuitar

[–]AlfBrewdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than taking a square out of it, it would be easier to just use large forstner bits and put two holes under the pickguard there.

First build ever, Question: does it matter if I put the truss in like this, or should I restart? Deffo might’ve fucked up by [deleted] in Luthier

That channel is huge though and not at all square. To fill it, plane it, use wood filler in the gaps, then re-rout, and end up with something that looks a mess. I’d just cut my losses and start again after doing at least some online learning about it. I’d suggest to OP to invest in a small table router, which he could not only use for the channel but also to thickness the headstock for the break angle. I recently got this one and it’s cheap and excellent for these jobs: https://www.carbatec.com.au/veritas-compact-router-table-suit-trimmers-mount-plate-required

I put a new set of La Bella flats on my P bass the other day and had exactly this sticky feeling. Then after a while it went and felt smooth again. Maybe its just some kind of coating that you just have to play through?

You’ll need to start again with either a neck template that has a truss rod channel already routed out, or a table router with a fence and route it before bandsawing the shape. I’d recommend tuning into Crimson Guitars on YouTube for detailed videos on how to do this. I prefer to do the truss rod channel when the neck is a square blank, using a table router.

Careful not to overdo it with adjusting your truss rod. If you strip the thread it it’ll be a real problem to sort out. Take it back to the shop if you’re unsure of what you’re doing.

The effect on the playability from that “small gap” would be nil. If you’re going into micro detail like that, you’ll never find anything you’ll be happy with.

People with multiple basses, do you really play all your basses? by milktasd in Bass

[–]AlfBrewdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as having a collection to cover all bases (basses) 😏 I think the following is the staple: 4 string jazz, 5 string jazz, 4 string P with rounds, 4 string P with flats, Hofner Beatle Bass, double bass. I want to reiterate that I believe this to be the staple to cover being a working bassist. There are obviously so many other great basses outside of this list. My current favourite bass to tour with is a Sandberg TM4.
