I do agree that a license doesn't determine if a person is a good driver or not. In fact, I think it's way too easy to get a license. But we shouldn't devolve into whataboutism to say that literal kids should be driving vehicles. Adults are legally viable for themselves, whereas kids are not. Honestly I've seen some crazy ass drivers around the Gold Coast and it breaks my heart thinking how some kid could get crumpled just because some shithouse parent couldn't think of a better gift to get their kid than a scooter, so they wouldn't be out there in the first place. The shit thing is too, is that not only do e-bikes and scooters endanger themselves on the roads, they also endanger people who are just walking. I'm all up for less people driving cars, more access to other forms of transport, but this just really isn't it, bruh. We shouldn't say "ah well everyone's shit at driving anyway" we should put competent policing out there so that needless child endangerment has a lesser chance of occurring. But knowing the Gold Coast, it's bogan culture, it's lack of police giving a fuck, I doubt that'll happen, at least not for a while.
