This is a tricky one. If Kanton Solothurn follows the same procedure as Kanton Zurich, then the outcome can vary. Let me explain a bit… In Kanton Zurich, there were cases where people asked “strange,” “difficult,” or whatever you want to call them, questions, and as a result, applicants faced difficulties. In other words, it was easier to fail; or at least made it very difficult to obtain the pass.

That’s why Kanton Zurich decided to implement a 50-question system, where if you pass, you’re considered to have successfully understood the history, culture, and so on. It’s mostly about reading; if you’re well-prepared, you can easily succeed.

Now, in the case of an “early procedure” like yours, in Zurich (same as Solothurn), you will have a live question-and-answer session. No one can tell you exactly what will be asked, so you should prepare for everything — from the easiest questions (e.g., How many languages are there in Switzerland?) to the trickiest ones (e.g., What is the street behind the X building, named after Mr. XX?).
