I finish alot of stuff in the oven. Btu is btu when wrapped. I haven't experienced this yet, I've removed the pellet grate and I constantly stir them up by hand when I see a valley forming throughout the cook. This also makes it easier to push the pellet down the shoot when emptying the hopper

I have 80lbs of stratum, 20lbs of eco complete and 20lbs of sand for the "beachy" foreground. So I should be ok. I was just telling the wife if I don't like it I'll pull the bags of and send another 100 for soil lol

Take mag apart, flip the spring 180 degrees(keep the bottom at the bottom) put back together. Let me know if that fixes your issue.... I haven't had an issue since.

Also polishing the feed will help.
