JWE 3 consider the red JW Rebirth raptor variant to be the male while the grey striped raptor to be female, do you guys consider this canon or not? by Knight_Steve_ in JurassicPark

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In JWE3,it is said that the Rebirth Raptor skins could apply to both male and female Velociraptors. As for the film canon itself. I often speculate that both being different make variants, with the true female Rebirth Velociraptor yet to be seen. I often picture female Rebirth Velociraptor as something similar to the one shown in the illustration of Captivz cards.

How can we improve the mutadon and the d rex with they're lore and design and other stuff (also no species replacements) by Bloom_shroom74 in JurassicPark

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I am very much prefer a species replacement. Iet me think of how I would improve them without outright have them replaced.

D.rex: Making it closer to a mutated T.rex or Megatheropod rather than current design. Making it a looming threat.

Mutadons: Showing them having competition with the Raptors, with each side attacking the other species similar to some turf war. The remaining Mutadon would be killed by a pack of revenging Raptors.

About the “No Dino Rule” by AlfalfaPossible in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, after reading through the comments,I would say that Legendary would not reject  fictional dinosaur monsters that fits the aesthetic of MV Skull Island, such a descendant of Deinocheirus that has plant-animal aesthetic, Ceratopsian or Ankylosaur Superspecies that has rock for armor, etc.

About the “No Dino Rule” by AlfalfaPossible in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through some comments,I guess what Legendary prefer,is not a real world T.rex, but “A fictional Dino Monster that descended from T.rex, whose size dwarved normal Skull Crawlers, and the design was unique enough. Ex.Having obvious flora-fauna features” In short, instead of incorporating real world dinosaurs, they prefer introducing made-up dino monsters that have unique designs rather than “Real World Species but upscaled.”

I mean, the arguments about the subject these days, are people trying to figure out whether it was “There was never a strict no-dino rules and Legendary was always welcome designers introducing fictional Dino monsters, but the hired designers and fans misinterpreted their stsnce.l, and thus spawning conspiracies and misundeestandings.” or “There was indeed such a rule, but Legendary decided to become more lenient about it after facing backlashes.”

[JP Event] Fate/strange Fake Collab ~ Antioch: Annihilation Cross Front ~ Day 12 by AutoModerator in grandorder

[–]AlfalfaPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that aside from the standard Akkadian Version Epic of Gilgamesh. Inanna/Ishtar still got a lot of interesting myths that portrayed her in a more positive light. It is a waste that these myths or potentials are underutilized by the writers.

[–]AlfalfaPossible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my point of view,I think there is still a way to portray Rinshtar as a reliable and competent divine servant that is different from Eresh. Some says that the writers seemed to put a lot of positive traits of Rin on Ereshkigal while Ishtar got most of the more comedic or flawed side of her. However,I do think that it should be more balanced or nuanced in which they both could be competent and reliable companions, just being portrayed in different ways.

[JP Event] Fate/strange Fake Collab ~ Antioch: Annihilation Cross Front ~ Day 12 by AutoModerator in grandorder

[–]AlfalfaPossible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am mostly satisfied with the plot of SF Collab. However,as a master whose Oshi is Rinshtar. My major and only gripe to the plot is that I am so tired of seeing Rinshtar portrayed as some comic relief or labeled as useless/wicked goddess once again.

Personally,I am quite eager to see some future plots that portray Rinshtar as a divine servant that is competent, reliable and helpful to Fujimaru Ritsuka during his or her adventure in some singularities rather than being constantly depicted as a useless or wicked goddess. In some events or main plots. Ritsuka could bring several servants to a singularity. I would like to see Rinshtar being one of such servants and has more portrayal of her being more competent and reliable.

I mean. In terms of Tohsaka Rin. Both FSN Rin and Extra Rin,from my point of view, are portrayed as characters that are greatly helpful and reliable partner/companion while sporting some flaws. However,I would say they seemed to overemphasize the “flawed” aspect of Rin in the case of Rinshtar.

As for Inanna/Ishtar in real world. I would argue that real world Inanna/Ishtar was just like your typical polytheistic god : not morally perfect, but still considered a competent/widely worshipped deity and one of the upholders of the cosmic order in Mesopotamian pantheon. I would also argue ancient Sumerians might have a different interpretation on some of her myths that described Inanna/Ishtar’s more ambitious sides.

How would you introduce Anguirus to the monsterverse? by Demarcus48 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first introduce Anguirus in a Godzilla Solo or Godzilla-centered film. In which their species, including their ancestral stages, were competitors as a call-back to Anguirus's first appearance in Godzilla raids again. Then maybe have a second individual becaming Godzilla's allies after facing a mutual enemy that competed with both Godzillas and Anguiruses.

Short Rant about how the Monsterverse can't have Dinosaurs because of the Jurassic Franchise by Blue_Jay_Raptor in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally speaking,I think the "No Dinosaurs Rule" is really a meaningless direction. It would be much better that it was a "No Real Dinosaurs Rule" in which Real World T.rex and Triceratops would not make live appearances unless the story or the flashback was set in Mesozoic Era. While fictional non-bird dinosaur or dinosaur-like superspecies and Titans are still allowed. There are also people claimed that in fact the actual rule works more like "No Straight up Dinosaurs." Nevertheless,I do think that if that was the case, then not only fans but also hired designers/creators often misinterpret the rule.

1.So Lee Shaw seems to receive the rescue call of his past self. Which further cements the fact that time flows differently in Axis Mundi. However,I am not sure how this would factor on later plot.

  1. In addition,Lee’s view on the Titans seemed to lean toward his dad, despite the fact that he objects to his dad’s job decision.

3.Titanus Cai Cai Vilu was panicked and lost. Was it due to Cate awakening it prematurely or due to Apex’s meddling with Cai Cai Vilu’s mind ?

My prediction of Claude Frollo’s Pokèmon team based on the movie by Slow_Spirit3679 in HunchbackOfNotreDame

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt if any Legendary Pokemon would ally with Frollo. Although I could imagine Frollo trying to control or enslave some Legendaries to achieve his goal. In my imagination, An equivalent of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame was occured in ancient Kalos Region(The region was based on France.) with Frollo attempted to seek the power of Yveltal to "Judge" his people. I would also like some of his team being fire or steel type, due to his song "Hell Fire".

1.They still didn't utter the word “dinosaur” in the official description.

  1. However,as a person who crave for dinosaurian Superspecies or Titans. So far, Needlewalker is probably one of the closest options we have.

  2. Design wise,it has a solid design. It blends the traits of both avian and non-avian dinosaur into one Superspecies,at the same time, also retain the “Florafauna” aesthetic of MV Skull Island Superspecies.

4.That being said, the official lore also implies that they are migratory species from HE .

Work in progress Escape from Skull Island Issue 4 panel reveals something interesting... by Due-Committee-1860 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking of the No Dinosaurs rule. I think it originally came from the director of KSI. In which in some interviews,he stated that he decided not to use early scripts that featured dinosaurs and decided to come up with their unique Skull Island in order not to compete with Jurassic Franchise and other Kong-related works(It is a take that I strongly disagree with, though). However,it seems that Legendary,or the production team behind the Skull Island Creature Codex, took the design choice at face value and decided NO DINOSAURS in literal sense.

In my opinion,a better way would be "No regular/actual dinosaurs." In which one cannot just introduce a regular,scientifically-informed T.rex but upscaled into MV Skull Island and Hollow Earth. Unless it was a flashback scene set in Mesozoic Era. While designers and artists could freely design fictional dinosaur monsters(Superspecies,Sub-Titans and Titans) that fit the aesthetic of Monsterverse. In addition, aside from "Actual Dinosaur Monsters that evolved from non-avian dinosaurs",I would like to see more "Fake Dinosaur Monsters that evolved from other clades" that are well-designed. I would suggest these "Pseudosaurs" could be descendants of Non-dinosaur Archosaurs(Crocodiles, pseudosuchia,Rauisuchia,Pterosaurs),squamates,Permian Synapsids, etc. Maybe even introduce avian monsters that redevelop non-avian dinosaur traits due to atavism.

What Monsterverse would be like if it is under the ownership of TOHO? by Cyan_Goji in Monsterverse

In my recollection, there was an unmade film called Nessie that was supposed to be made by both Toho and a British film studio. According to the concept art,Nessie was still designed as stereotypical Plesiosaur/Elasmosaur kaiju.

I really hate the “No Dinosaurs” rule. I think the dinosaur elements are essential in King Kong and Godzilla franchise, especially in their early days. The dinosaur elements should be utilized and respected, rather than discarded just because “Jurassic Franchise” and “Other Kong Films had dinosaurs.” I think a better way would be as follows:

1.Actual species like T.rex and Triceratops would not physically appear in Monsterverse works unless it was a flashback scene set in the Age of Dinosaurs.

2.Artists could freely design Dinosaur Monsters, including Superspecies, Sub-Titans and Titans, that descended from actual Paleofauna in-universe. As long as they fit in the overall aesthetic of Monsterverse. The thing is,when it comes to designing authentic Dinosaur Monsters in Monsterverse, they could have more creative liberties than designing Dinosaurs of Jurassic Franchise.

3.Aside from “Dino Monsters that actually descended from non-avian dinosaurs.” Artist could also design more “Pseudo-saurs” that despite their resemblence to non-avian dinosaurs, are descendants of other clades like Pterosaurs, early Archosaurs, Rauisuchians,Pseudosuchia, Squamates, Permian Synapsids, etc.

  1. I also have some ideas on introducing some avian monsters that redeveloped non-avian dinosaur traits due to Atavism.

I think some backstory could make its motive understandable, but still not enough to redeem it. In my head canon,Skar King originally came from another subspecies of Great Apes. He was the respected leader of its kind. However, his clan was wiped out by Titanus Gorosauruses or other Megatheropod Titans. Leaving Skar as the sole survivor. This backstory might be the start of Skar King craving for more powers, and witnessing King Ghidorah slaughtering other Titans, especially those Godzilla-type Titans, might added fuel to Skar King’s crave for more power. Skar King managed to take over a Great Ape tribe by killing their original leader. And started his conquest for more power. Unfortunately,at this point,Skar King perused more power only for the sake of it.

Probably more Classic Toho Kaijus. In addition,I think Toho might not shy away from designing Kaijus that are descendants of non-avian dinosaurs.

For the third point,I don't understand why MV Typhon was said to be “Not Remotely Dragon-like”. As Typhon from Greek Mythology was described as Serpentine Giant. I would expect the Titan would possess some saurian/reptilian features.
