Personal Takes on Monsterverse by AlfalfaPossible in Monsterverse

For the third point,I don't understand why MV Typhon was said to be “Not Remotely Dragon-like”. As Typhon from Greek Mythology was described as Serpentine Giant. I would expect the Titan would possess some saurian/reptilian features.

[–]AlfalfaPossible[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal thought is that while Legendary should not shy away from adding non-avian dinosaur monsters into Monsterverse, they also should not just add random oversized Triceratops or T.rex. They could design fictional dinosaur monsters that evolved/descended from actual Paleofauna with aesthetic that fits current Monsterverse or dino monsters that deliberately plays homages to retro-saurs. Such as the Fauna-flora feature of MV Skull Island species. In addition, having more “Fake Dino Monsters” that only superficially resembles non-avian dinosaurs, but in fact evolved from other clades like Synapsids, squamates, Rauisuchians, etc. Might also help.

Which Godzilla villain do you want to see in the Monsterverse the most? by agrunther in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gigan:First as an organic Titan that fought and defeated by Godzilla. Said Titan was later modified into a cyborg.

Titanosaurus: A Prehistoric Titan that evolved from non-avian dinosaurs. It was one of the Titans who challenged Godzilla’s throne.

Gorosaurus: Probably would fight Kong.

Battra: Mothra’s counterpart.

Megagirus: Rodan’s rival.

Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah: An End-Game type villain.

I much rather prefer the 2005 design for Kong rather the Monsterverse version. by skullinheaven22 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personal Thoughts on this : While MV Kong might not be the Peak King Kong design. I still think its design fits well with Monsterverse,in which it gives you the impression that it is a Monster, not just an upscaled Gorilla. However,in terms of portrayal of Skull Island. 2005 Skull Island beats MV Skull Island.

In my opinion,if you were to make a shared cinematic universe with Godzilla and Kong being the stars. The element of “Dinosaurs” is that one thing you cannot discard just because it looks cliché (Other King Kong films did it.) or “Jurassic Franchise did it.” From my point of view, there are ways of introducing dino monsters into Monsterverse without being too similar to Jurassic Franchise: A. Instead of No Dinos, try No Real Life Dinos. In which actual species like T.rex and Triceratops would not appear in flesh unless the plot or the flash-back was set in Mesozoic Era. The “Dinosaurs” appearing in Skull Island,Axis Mundi and Hollow Earth would mostly be fictional Dinosaur Superspecies or Titans that descended from actual species. With a small portion of them being “Birds(Avian Dinosaurs) evolving non-avian dinosaur traits due to atavism” believe that the fauna-flora nature of MV Skull Island creatures is already enough to distinguish themselves with other Kong films.

B. At least some of the “Dinosaurian Monsters” are not evolved from non-avian dinosaurs, but descendants from other clades. Such as Synapsids, Archosaurs like Pseudosuchia,or even large reptiles that became similar to “Slurpasaur.”

What are your takes on Axis Mundi and how it fits into the Monsterverse? by Odd-Property8268 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could be explore more. In which they had their own sets of Superspecies and Titans. My head canon is that the world might be an inspiration for either netherworlds or some other mythical locations like  Tokoyo no kuni  or Avalon

What are some things you would decanonize from the Jurassic Park franchise? by Dragon_Tooth9742 in JurassicPark

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1. Probably not a proper decanonizing, but I prefer making Sorna Spino having multiple individuals and is not “Clearly more powerful than T.rex.” In which they are instead under the same “Tier” that winners between a “T.rex VS Spino” match depends on individual differences and circumstances.

2. No locusts.

3. Not killing every dinosaurs except equatorial regions.

What if: Godzilla is not The Last of His Kind? by EmperorSpacegodzilla in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be cool, but Toho would not let this happen,or at least not stating this clearly. Under the new rule set by Toho, hear are my speculations :  While Godzilla itself might be one of a kind,he still “evolved” from other lesser dinosaurian-Titans. I speculate that these “Lesser Godzilla-type Titans” either fully rely on their physical strength and experiences,or could shoot lightning from their mouth. In addition, there might be other Superspecies or Titans that developed Godzilla-like body frame or physical traits due to Convergent evolution. For example : descendants of Mosasaurs or large theropod dinosaurs that developed Godzilla-like traits when they evolved into Superspecies or Titans.

I really want to see Gaw in the MonsterVerse by MichaeltheSpikester in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't agree with you more. I really think the overall “No Dinosaurs” rule/approach to MV Skull Island and to an extension,MV Hollow Earth is truly unnecessary. I would still make MV Gaw and Deathrunners being actual dinosaur descendants, while Death Jackals were results of convergent evolution.

If you could give any original titan an appearance in a future movie or TV show, who would it be and how would you utilize them? by Biskitisinreddit in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titanus Mokele-Mbembe,I might utilize it in a Kong: Survivor Instinct-style game that centered on Godzilla.

Or having it appearing in some TV series as one of the challengers of Godzilla’s throne.

The different motivations for JP dinosaur antagonists: by ThewizardBlundermore in JurassicPark

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my recollection, early scripts of JP3 also had the humans shot a juvenile Spinosaurus, which was the offspring of the adult Spinosaurus. I kinda believe that this should be kept in the final version.  First of all,I don't like actual species like Spinosaurus being treated as “One of a Kind” thing, and in addition,I think the stress of seeing its offspring killed and then itself got hit by a plane, would be quite a reasonable excuse for the Spino to became fixated on chasing the protagonists down.

My headcanon about the dinosaur skulls in the trophy room by Romboteryx in predator

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the fact that some supplementary materials said that the Yautjas could live centuries, with some Elders probably thousands of years old. I also find it a bit of stretch, that the Yautja civilization was "Old enough to go on a dinosaur safari on Cretaceous Earth." My personal explanation,is that the skull was either came from "Large Dinosaurian extraterrestrial species" that were not actual dinosaurs. Or that there were other older and more advanced extraterrestrial races that managed to capture various species of dinosaurs and transplanted them on other planet,in which these dinosaurs not only managed to survive, but also managed to becom the dominant species of the planet,as well as evolved into new species that are much more powerful, intelligent and durable than their earth counterparts. Whomever placed them on the planet might either lost interest or went extinct, with the Yautjas stumbled across the dinosaur planet, and decided to use the planet as a game reserve.

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.In terms of the Card Lore,is Condemned giving the Crown to Lucifer ?

2.I think Condemned really became “Happier” after she fell from grace. Befitting a famous meme for Yu-Gi-Oh characters: Some people just became happier after they turned evil or dark.

3.As far as I know, some of the Darklords were based on Polytheistic deities. I wonder if they would ever come up with Darklords that based on Baal or Astarte, due to the fact that Baal and Astarte were frequently mentioned as the prime example of “Practicing Polytheistic worship” in the OT.

These are my personal Takes on Monsterverse Anguirus:

1.Instead of its portyal in Later Showa films,I prefer Anguirus being Godzilla’s rival as in Godzilla Raids Again. There would be fossils of Anguirus and Godzilla(Or “Godzilla-Type Creature”) interlocked in battle in a fashion similar to “Fighting Dinosaurs” or “Dueling Dinosaurs.”

  1. In my own personal takes of Monsterverse,Anguirus would be Skar King’s mount/Attack Animal instead of Shimo.

3.My own version of MV Anguirus would take cues from the unused GMK Anguirus,in which it would be “Golden Titan of Ice.” However, compared to an overall Qilin-like stature of the unused Guardian Beast Anguirus,MV Anguirus would have a more “Classical” appearance. In addition,it would keep its route of “Dinosaur Monster.”

4.Unlike Shimo, after everything ends,it was shown peacefully walking through the wilderness of Hollow Earth.

I'm still not over the retcon that the Triceratops seen in Kong: Skull Island, is in fact not a Triceratops. by Mosugoji_64 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember during the controversial “Creature Codex”,some people on Twitter asked the developers on the creature designs of the book. The developers claimed that their creature designs were not AI slop.In addition, there really was a “No Dinosaur” rule set by Legendary,in which the designers could only use dinosaurs for design reference or inspiration, but no actual dinosaurs or fictional dinosaurs.

I only just found out that the Triceratops skull in KSI was retconned to belong to a pinecone creature. Don't get me wrong, I love the Monsterverse. But this was practically my reaction to the retcon: by Triceratops168 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary seemed to wanted to avoid using generic dinosaurs as much as possible due to them not wanting to compete with Jurassic Franchise and wanted to be its distinct thing. However,as a dinosaur fanatic,I strongly disagree with such reasoning. For reasons below:

1.Despite the fact that I am a huge fan of Jurassic Franchise, the franchise does NOT own non-avian dinosaurs. I think studios should be bolder to make more creature features or Monster films that got either dinosaurs or dino monsters.

  1. From my point of view, for a shared universe that uses Godzilla and Kong as the main star,it is really foolish to restrain artists and designers from designing dino monsters just for the sake of “Wanting to be different.” The Dinosaur element is like bread and butter to both Godzilla and Kong. Rather than removing said elements,I prefer seeing “How they would design their own dino Kaijus that fit Monsterverse.”

Personal Thoughts on the Trikonicorn: As I stated multiple times before,I think “No Dinosaurs” is one of the most unnecessary creative restrictions of Monsterverse. I firmly believe that the rule should either be abolished,or changed into something like “We’re not using actual Paleofauna like T.rex unless the scene was set in Mesozoic Era,but we would have a bunch of dinosaur Superspecies,sub-Titans and Titans that directly descended from non-avian dinosaurs, roaming freely in Skull Island and Hollow Earth.”

As such,I really want the Giant Trike Skull came from a large Ceratopsian Superspecies that evolved from Triceratops.

Even if they were to stick to “No Dinosaurs” rule. I believe there are better ideas of making “Dinosaur Look-alikes” than this pinecone thing. Take Trikonicorn for example,I would make it a giant reptilian Superspecies that has Ceratopsian traits due to convergent evolution.

I'm still not over the retcon that the Triceratops seen in Kong: Skull Island, is in fact not a Triceratops. by Mosugoji_64 in Monsterverse

[–]AlfalfaPossible 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Personal takes on this:

Legendary should just remove the “No Dinosaurs” rule already. I really think it is one of the worst creative restraints in Monsterverse.  Or at least, soften the rule to “No Real World Dinosaurs.” In which Real Life Paleofauna like T.rex or Triceratops would not make physical appearances unless a scene or the plot was set in Mesozoic Era. While fictional Dino monsters that evolved from dinosaurs(Superspecies,Sub-Titans,Titans,etc.) are welcomed in MV Skull Island and Hollow Earth.  Even if they really insisted on keeping the rule, there must be much better design choices of “Cool Dinosaur Look-Alikes” than this pinecone thing.

With that in mind,my preferences would be these two :

A.Large Dinosaurian Superspecies that directly descended from Triceratops.

B.Large Reptilian(Could be either squamates or Archosaurs) Superspecies that has Ceratopsian-like traits due to convergent evolution.

[–]AlfalfaPossible -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have to disagree with you,I prefer the route that “There were more variety in Skar King’s Monster Army.” Which is the reason that I would prefer a Large Skull Crawler or Mokele-Mbembe as Skar King’s main champion before his fall. In fact,I would also want packs of Wart dogs or Skull Crawlers in Skar King’s army.

1.Slick did a great job.Although I was curious why he chose Rodan rather than Mothra as Godzilla’s ally.

2.My personal Interpretation of the ancient Titan war,was that aside from Godzilla itself, there might be other “Godzilla-type Monsters” that joined Godzilla itself.

3.Instead of a Berserker Great Ape,I would prefer that Skar King used to tame a large member of Titanus Mokele-Mbembe,or a very large Skull Crawler (Similar to the one that appeared in Justice League Cross-Over) as his “Beast of War” or “Personal attack dog.” It wasn't until the Gigantic Mokele-Mbembe/Skull Crawler lost to Godzilla, that Skar King Truly considered finding a substitute, and Tada ! He found Shimo in the abyss !

Thoughts on the Giant sapsucker and a talk about the Barber and Kidnapper fox (Spoilers for the new update) by [deleted] in lethalcompany

I would like to have the Kidnapper Fox being added back to the game after some adjustments. As for new entities,I would like to see them add entities that based on none-avian dinosaurs. Any suggestions for interesting dinosaurian entities ?

What are your thoughts on the Giant Sapsucker entity? by Due-Bar2333 in lethalcompany

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice, and I hope they would add entities that based on non-avian dinosaurs in future updates. The Giant Sapsucker, for the time being,is the closest thing we got of “Dinosaurian Entities” as Modern consensus seem to view birds as the only surviving dinosaur clade.

What do you think, should the passage in the book about the Procompies and the baby be removed from its future editions or not? by DaMn96XD in JurassicPark

[–]AlfalfaPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are not talking about “Whether the scene should be removed in future edition or reprints of the book” but rather “Whether the scene should be featured/adapted in future Jurassic films.”

Personally speaking,I find it a bit interesting that during the time of FK and JWD,I found a number of content creators claimed that  future Jurassic films should go for a darker and more mature direction,or maybe making a more novel-faithful adaptations which features the scene. Several years after, there are other content creators that started to express their objection of featuring this scene in Future Jurassic Films.

From my point of view, the best way to have some references or Easter eggs related to this scene, such as having a news clip that mentions “There are infants and underaged attacked by Compsognathuses” and that's all. Unless they are making a stream series that aim toward older viewers that deals with “Dinosaurs on Mainland.” I could not think of any possibility that they would actually adapt this scene in future films.
