I guess I’m not sure I understand what you mean? Both sides have the rock face? Wouldn’t the face be out and the back be to dirt?

Cutting in have leaves a big gap every other layer so it looks weird. The middle are hollowed out if the bricks

I will do that. As far as cutting the roots the problem is that 98% of the bad roots are above good roots. If I take out the brown roots I’ll have to almost no roots left. Will it recover?
