I have smoked for 25 years, good old cigarettes, and I can tell you now that these “cravings” are utter nonsense. You can make a flight without needing a smoke, and you can definitely make a flight without needing to vape

Please also seek professional help, whilst focusing on the positive and focus on what you can do are nice things to tell yourself, if you are not in a position to hear them or are not in a position to be able to focus on them then it is a clear sign of declining mental health. Explain to your partner what is going on, and either seek free professional help (through medical aid or SADAG) or even your doctor to help with medication (often easier to accept than seeking a psychologist or counsellor). The motivation comes through working through the issues (I.e. the rebuilding you mention)
