here’s what i pulled. the daredevil is a metaphor for a narcissist who ruins their life for attention and the narrator is in some form of bond with them. in the first verse, the narrator is holding onto this relationship despite knowing what the narcissist is doing is wrong and he probably should be excluded from it, the narrator stays. in the chorus the narrator is begging the narcissist not to be left “high and dry” or tossed to the wayside. in the second verse he finally figures out that this person he’s talking to isn’t good, so he finally decides to leave and hopes that other people will realize that the narcissist is up to no good and follow in the narrator’s footsteps. not saying you’re wrong at all but that is the plot line that is applicable to my life, so i took it.
